I didn't see a thread on here for Fall 2011 applicants to the Lonestar nursing program, so I decided to start one.:) I will be applying to Montgomery as my first choice and am really nervous about taking the HESI test with all of the added components. I applied to Kingwood this past application period with an 11.5652 and got an alternate spot, competition was fierce. So, here I go again, hopefully I'll get in this time around. I'm really nervous about the A&P portion of the HESI. I feel like I've forgotten alot of what I learned. Any suggestions from anyone?
Good luck to all applying:)
Not as difficult as you think. The A&P section was basis, but you need to know your stuff. I came across so many blogs on allnurses and i use all that couple with what Kaybdt6 sent me. It was just exactly the same test. Like what some fellow blogger said, everybody have different test..........not in this case. The questions are all the same except the arrangement. To me, it do not make sense for every tester to have different differnt question.
Hey, TxDiscoDiva what is your total points and what campuses are you applying to? also who is your pharm teacher and is she good because I plan taking it in the summer. I agree with you on the a&p section, the girls in my micro class are all getting different questions too.
Hi Chikzy,
I am taking my Pharm with ******* at the NH campus (Micro-Bio too). My total points are 11.3352- not really high because I made B's in both A&P 's Yeah, I wish I would have been one of the ones who had all basic questions on my A&P but I didn't. I think ****** is pretty good because she allows you to bring 3 pages of notes and the drug guide to look at during exams, so I recommend her if for that reason only. She is also a clinical professor in the ADN program (2nd year I think) and she told us that she also takes a group of Nursing students every Monday downtown to Memorial Hermann for patient rounds, which made me look forward to being in the program even more. I've taken most of my classes at the Montg. campus and that is my 1st choice even though I know I don't have much of a chance of getting in, since their cut off is around 11.5 But NH is my 2nd choice so I'll just wait and hope I can get in like everyone else.:redpinkhe
Thanks Kay for the study guide, its really help me on my Hesi. Am relieve of all the anxiety all this while. Thanks one more time kay, you really make my day! Just finished my test 20 minutes ago. You're such a wonderful nurse! I never believed my score on the A&P section.....92. Wowww!
Congrats!! That's a great score:)
Okay, I took the hesi test today just to see what the format looks like. I got a 83.86 % for cummulative score. Some of the stuff i remember from the AP section is XXXX. For vocabs, you can study it evolve study guide which can be borrow from the library and you can only use it for 2 hours and return the book back. The math is very basic, just look at the study guide math portion and you should do fine.
Hi everyone! I am new to this post, but not new to the process. I applied last semester to Cy-Fair and didn't get in with an 11.4xxx. I have been studying my butt off for the HESI... I take it on Friday morning and I am sooooooooo nervous. Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn! Good luck to everyone applying! If anyone has any tips for any of the sections that would be awesome. I think the vocab and a&p are what scares me the most because I have seen that people have failed those 2 portions the most. I found a good website to study the a&p. I have put it below if anyone wants to check it out.
