Lonestar 2011 ADN Hopefuls

I didn't see a thread on here for Fall 2011 applicants to the Lonestar nursing program, so I decided to start one.:) I will be applying to Montgomery as my first choice and am really nervous about taking the HESI test with all of the added components. I applied to Kingwood this past application period with an 11.5652 and got an alternate spot, competition was fierce. So, here I go again, hopefully I'll get in this time around. I'm really nervous about the A&P portion of the HESI. I feel like I've forgotten alot of what I learned. Any suggestions from anyone?

The letters should be out no later then the 2nd week of April according to the college. I asked when we would hear something when I turned in my application.

Since they changed the HESI this year, they do not know where the scores will be until after this application period. With the new requirements, you must pass all sections with at least a 75. Your score is now determined with a composite score from English/Grammer, Reading, and Vocab- composite total and then divided by 25. Math will still be used as a tie breaker if needed. They added Anatomy because the senior nursing instructors requested it. They had too many students coming into the program that didn't know their A&P and that is your life as a nurse. They will be making selections by putting all the applicants from every college into one student group and ranked by scores. They will then start with the top score and put that person at their 1st choice school, then go to the next person, and do the same, and then the next, and so on...until all the spots are filled. I submitted my lvn application to cy-fair today. I got absolutely nothing out of the girl about points or the cutoff for last year or last application period. She said it changes every year so knowing last years cutoff would be no use. Booo. I just wanted to know!

I just read the fall 2010 thread and the first person to get a letter got it on March 25th!!! So I guess we could be getting letters as soon as that too!

OH MY GOODNESS!! My nerves are killing me!!! My friends keep telling me it will be april in no time but it seems like the calendar has SLLLLOOOOWWWWWED down. :-) LOL!! I have applied over at NHarris as my first pick and montgomery as my second and tomball as third. I really hope to get into N Harris. My score is an 11.76 and it sounds like all of our scores on this board are really good so we will probably all get in. I sure hope so! I am looking forward to going to school with ladies that are jsut as passionate and excited about becoming a nurse as I am. I saw that someone posted that it will probably be the second week in April that letters are mailed and possibly as early as the end of march. I sure hope it is AS SOON AS POSSIBLE cuz i dont know if my nerves could make it until the ed of April!!! :-) My heart also stopped when I got the SURVEY message yesterday. hey focus, i have an 11.4 too and i'm pretty sure that you'll make it in. you're score is great. don't fret, with a month more to wait, try to focus that energy somewhere else (like me, spring cleaning and pathophys lol) i'm down to be in a study group if the schedule permits. this guy right here is addicted to starbucks . im in the same boat as stars, only applied to [color=silver]ut and lonestar. everyone's scores seem really great here. hopefully we'll be able to meet up this august.
