I didn't see a thread on here for Fall 2011 applicants to the Lonestar nursing program, so I decided to start one.:) I will be applying to Montgomery as my first choice and am really nervous about taking the HESI test with all of the added components. I applied to Kingwood this past application period with an 11.5652 and got an alternate spot, competition was fierce. So, here I go again, hopefully I'll get in this time around. I'm really nervous about the A&P portion of the HESI. I feel like I've forgotten alot of what I learned. Any suggestions from anyone?
Good luck to all applying:)
I will say I am feeling rather upbeat about the whole thing and that I will be getting an acceptance letter from NH, along with many of my classmates that have scores close to mine:) My reasoning for this positive attitude is simply because the cut off last year was lower than my score, and the fact that all campuses seem to be reporting lower scores this year than last year's applicants. So it seems reasonable to me that we will be getting accepted. Yesterday in my Micro class 3 students were discussing applying to different programs and I asked if they applied at LSC. All 3 of them said they failed the English comp sections so they could not apply. I guess this has happened to many applicants. While I do feel bad for them that they couldn't apply, at the same time it's good news for us, because these new sections have really leveled the playing field for the rest of us. The advisor at NH told me that letters should go out by mid April, and if I haven't received a letter near the end of April to call the office. Lord I hope they have them mailed out my the 15, or I will lose my mind
She said letters should go out by "mid April"?? WHAT?!! Everything I have read and been told says the 1st week of April! I simply don't think I can wait any longer. LOL I know last year people started getting letters the last week of March, but I think that was from Montgomery and Tomball campuses. NH sent there's out the 1st week of April.

True... their bad luck could be our good luck.... like I said before, I'm cautiously optimistic. all of these factors... low test scores, smaller applicant pool, more openings, the advisor saying the cutoff would be lower..... all make me think I have a chance even with my lower score. I just keep praying for my acceptance letter and remember that I have other options as well.
hey guys! i came across this thread and was wanting to see if any of you had an answer to my question...I recently applied to the Montgomery LVN program and did not get in, but was placed on the alternate list...do you know how many alternates they allow in? I am really bummed!!! I would have most likely been accepted into the RN program if it was not for the new A&P section of the HESI...that is what killed me!!!! Thanks!!!

I do have high hopes that by some miracle since it's rumored there are not as many applicants this time that they will be able to send out notifications sooner than later. One can only hope. :rolleyes
