Lone Star Spring 2011

Published

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

mayrachristina same situation as yours...don't be discouraged. you will be fine. hope for the best.

fabjulev i completely agree with you on having kids... it might make it harder to study, but they are the reason i am pushing so hard for this degree! i want to give them everything i never had growing up!:redbeathe

all of our sacrifices, struggles and dificulties help us to push forward with a feverish drive. we will make it and when we do we will plant the invaluable seed of success. they are a part of our journey..... and i pray that in witnessing their mothers struggles they will be inspired to persevere thru all obstacles that may stand in their way. :):):)

Can i take the HESI test now because it is Kingwood application period (for a practice)and take it again in January?

Not sure if the HESI is still available to take. I think that it was over as of last week. If you can still take it, then yes, you can take it now to practice and then take it again for next application period. Remember, they will take the most recent score. Not the better one.

I believe that if you have already missed it this session, then you can take it in the spring and then again in the summer if you need to. You just need to find out when it is available again. They have certain testing periods for the HESI. Does anyone out there know the exact dates that the HESI is available to be taken?

Does this clear anything up? It is straight in my head, but doesn't always come out that way! :uhoh3:

Here is a link to LSC's schedule for application periods and HESI deadlines:http://www.lonestar.edu/13465.htm

You've missed your chance to take the HESI at Lone Star this calendar year.

I personally recommend that people do take the HESI for practice. I did and discovered that I don't need to take it again. I know one other person who did the same thing. With no preparation, she missed only one question on the reading.

You'll have to either take the HESI at San Jacinto College (I think they start offering the HESI again soon) or a commercial testing center (which is always your last choice). To take the HESI at a commercial testing center, you'll need to find the name of a school that is currently accepting applications.

I recommend taking all sections of the HESI so that you have all bases covered no matter where you apply. I took the HESI three times. Each school I applied to wanted more sections than I'd previously taken. If I had taken all sections the first time, I would not have spent as much money.

Anyone know when we might start getting notifications if we are accepted to the program? Will it come mail or email?

K

I have heard we can expect letters to mailed via snail mail starting October 2nd. :yeah:

I finally got my 2nd Hep B shot this morning. Does anyone know if you can get the 3rd one early? I know I heard that if you are accepted you have to have them all 3 completed by 12/1. If that's the case I would not have them done unless I can get the last one early. We are getting so close!!!! It's already the 20th... just a few more weeks of this agonizing waiting game!

I thought that you just have to have them completed by the time school starts in January. Am I wrong guys?

Not sure if you (or how you) get qualified to take the 3rd one early. There is a fast track way to do it, but not sure how.

*Goopkat*

Where did you hear that???!! I am dying to know already!!
