Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.
I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?
Once everyone gets their letter we should have an acceptance party at coach's, therefore we can all get to meet each other. Its crazy how it is a competition to get into the nursing program. However once we are in we need to help each other succeed. I feel the more support you have from your class mates the more you will succedd in school.
Good luck to all who applied.:)
Great idea kolbee, I think the support we give each other will make a HUGE difference in our nursing school experience. It's nice being able to share the ---waiting for the letters--- with others right now.
I feel your pain fabjulev, my oldest (a boy) is also 13. Lots of changes this year with the teenage stuff and hopefully starting nursing school :) Exciting though.

That sounds like a great idea! It's awesome that you and your wife are going through this together, what great help it will be to have a 24/7 partner to study and practice with! Where in Canada are you guys from? My husband is Canadian!

We are from Windsor Ontario, originally, then we moved to London, Ontario in 2007. After I got laid off we decided to move here to go to school. Its a big change but we are making the best of it. We have 3 little kids (6,5,5) so we are hoping after 2 more years of this studying crap we can give them a great life.

Wow, you have your hands full! But that sounds like a great plan you have.
My husband is from London, ON also! But he hasn't been there since 2002. Funny, it's such a small world :)
Thanks FruityPebble and fabjulev!
fabjulev, you sound extremely busy! My 2 year old alone keeps me running around all day long, lol! Being busy is the only thing that keeps my mind off of what my letter will say!
kolbee, I think that you and my mother-in-law took A&P1 together. Unless there is another husband and wife team from Canada! I think the Coach's idea is great! Your score is great too! You should have no problem getting in!
I look forward to getting to know all of you! I'm trying to stay positive and keep my head held high... I know I really tried my best and if I don't get in this time around there is always next semester!
Hi everyone. Haven't posted in a while...been busy with work, pharmacology, and family! I'm glad everyone has done so well with their scores.
I'm another mom here! My daughter is 20 months old. I have no idea how I am going to deal with going to school, working FT, and taking care of her! My husband stays at home, so I do have help, but I'm sooooo not looking forward to missing out even more then I do now. But, I think it is time I move on with my career as I have been a dietitian for 13 years and am just getting soooo bored with it. I realize that I still have a long time in my working career and probably am due for a change. I really hope to work w/ mom/baby/L&D or NICU after school.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
Wow, that is so weird!! My husband applied to the nursing program with me (CyFair) with a score of 11.652 (he doesn't have an allnurses account but we can add him to the list, too!) but we were not sure if he would be able start this semester because we didn't his job would work around a schedule. But they just told us they would!! So now we're just praying we both get letters! So I never said anything on here about him because I didn't want to "jinx" it and have his job say no lol!!
Welcome all of the newcomers!!

Thats awsome news, it nice to see another guy aplying as well, let alone another husband and wife team. I hope you both get in.
Good luck:up:
tmrine-- Wecome!!! It seems we both have a lot in common! I also have two kids (a newborn and 17 month old) and am a SAHM! We haven't moved to Houston yet, are moving in a couple months, and we're also moving closer to my husband's family. We'll have to hang out after class sometimes and study and let the kids play, I know my house has so many toys it looks like a daycare center lol!!
