Lone Star Spring 2011

Published

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I'm correct on this; this is for CyFair....

Spring semester: 16 weeks (January-May)

Summer semester: 16 weeks (May-August)

Winter semester: 16 weeks (September-December)

So we basically go to school from January to December and get ONE week off between Spring and Summer and ONE week off between Summer and Winter? That seems pretty insane!

I believe Summer is 12 wks not 16. Also we get a full month for winter break.

ammmyjjj... You are totally right, summer is 12 weeks not 16. I was just saying how between the time we start our spring semester in January to the time we end our fall semester in December we only have 2 1-week breaks. I just thought that was a little crazy :)) !!

Come on October!! I just wanna know.

We also have a full week for spring break and a thanksgiving break. I agree that its gonna seem intense. But that's why we only do 18 months. I would rather go to school all summer than have to return the next fall.

Wait, I thought we did come back for that fall semester? I was told that we would graduate in December of 2012.

If we don't that's great! I sure hope I was misinformed :)

same here, i understood that the adn program is for two years. my friend started @kingwood this january and had june & july off. she just started " level two" on aug 30th. she will graduate dec of 2011. she said the program is divided into four "levels". if cyfair's program is trully 18 months then im super surprised and excited, that's if i get in!!!!:lol2: if by chance i don't get accepted i have already come to terms with that and i will simply finish up my pre-reqs for my bsn and apply in jan to tomball's adn program.

Please someone check my info but it was my impression that Cyfair (and cyfair alone) has a 18 month program. The Kingwood people will grad in december(unless they are one of the few who will get to do some kind of special summer deal). All of the others are 24 months. We graduate in Aug not Dec. Double check but I'm pretty sure I'm right.:)

Supposedly, that's one of the reasons Cyfair is so hard.

11.6 is an awesome score. i really don't think you you will need your "plan b". mark my words......we wil be classmates come january.:)

thanks, ammmyjjj your words are very encouraging. i hope your right, im pretty anxious to meet everyone. it looks like we have a great group of supportive individuals. we know that school's going to be intense, so we need all the support we can get and give. if we keep up this comradery we will all make it, and finally reach one of our most desired goals. no one left behind- go class of 2012!!!!!!!:yeah::yeah::yeah:

I'm confused about the scoring chart. The 4 points from the HESI test only come from the reading section? is that correct? I'm going to be applying in the spring. Should i start getting my immunizations done?

I have an A in the three main classes and have taken all my pre q except one..microbiology. I guess its all up to my HESI test. I just bought the study guide. I have read posts that it doesn't help. Does everyone agree with that? and does anyone have more advice on the reading section?

thanks so much!

Come on October!! I just wanna know.

I am with you songbird1. I just want to know...now! lol :uhoh3:
