Lone Star Spring 2011

Okay, for all of us that did not get into the Lone Star Fall 2010 program and are trying again for the Spring...here we go again.

I'm retaking AP2 this summer (I have a B so now I want an A) to increase my points. After that I just don't know what else to do because I have all co-reqs completed, CPR done and Immunizations done. What are your plans to increase your chances of getting in for the Spring?

Hi all- just found this thread while searching for info on the Cy-fair cutoff since they won't give out that info! It's great to be able to connect with others that are also playing the waiting game right now, hopefully we will all be classmates come spring. I'm applying to cy-fair with a score of 11.826 and very nervous after seeing all these really high scores, just staying optimistic since there's nothing else I can do at this point :)

A little bit about me....

I'm 24 years old, single mommy to a 5 year old boy! I am unmarried but have been in a serious relationship for two years now. My boyfriend has two girls, ages almost five and six. Its a crazy bunch with two five year olds and a six year old! I currently live with family while I pursue my career in nursing. I don't plan on working during the nursing program so having the help from family has been a HUGE blessing!

I went to school (North Harris) and obtained my Associates in Paralegal Studies in May of 2009. Before graduation I decided I wanted to pursue nursing! lol. I then began my pre-req's at that time and here I am! I currently work full time as an admin at a law firm for the last year in a half.

I'm apply to Kingwood with an 11.826 and feel confident in my score! :) My preference is the day program so I can attend class while the kiddo is in school. I can't wait to start a new chapter of my life in nursing school.

You can add me to the list of "introverts" lol. I am pretty quiet (unless spoken to) and not a conversation starter at first....keywords=at first. Once I form friendships I can talk your ear off! Consider yourself warned! lol jk. It's really funny how being "shy" or "quiet" is construed as "rude" or "stuck-up", but it is what it is! Can't wait to see what's in store for all of us. :)

Well............tommorrow is the application deadline. It's interesting to note that if everyone from the Cyfair list makes it, about 1/3 of the class is on this board. I think that is kinda cool. Anyway, it shouldn't be long now untill we have our letters (whether good or bad) in hand. I think the only thing that is keeping me sane right now is the fact that I'm keeping busy with a full load of course work this semester. I will actually be done with all of my RN to BSN pre reqs after this semester. Good luck to everyone!

Hi I am new to this site... I just submitted my application to Kingwood a week ago with a score of 11.526. I am also worried about my score. I missed 2(95.65) on the Hesi reading and 3(94.00) on the math so I think I done well on the part. But I think I missed out on some points in the pre-req's section. I have an A in both psych and A&P I but a B in English. It took it at U of H years ago and I just didn't want to take it over again. So I hope that my score is good enough to get in. I am really hoping to get in the night program but I don't know how that works. I know that they are excepting 60 students to kingwood but how many will be evening spots?......Does anyone out there know?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I'm correct on this; this is for CyFair....

Spring semester: 16 weeks (January-May)

Summer semester: 16 weeks (May-August)

Winter semester: 16 weeks (September-December)

So we basically go to school from January to December and get ONE week off between Spring and Summer and ONE week off between Summer and Winter? That seems pretty insane!
