From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.
The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.
I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?
If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

Also, would you guys recommend taking A&P II & pharm in the same semester? Figured I can knock those classes out this fall before the program starts, not sure how I feel about taking those at the same time though lol.
Yes, I took the 8 week a&p 2 and Pharm last year before the program started at kingwood. I’d definitely recommend doing it, that’s a load that’s off your back once you’re in the program. I ended with A’s in both of the 8 week courses.
If you’re taking pharmacology at Kingwood I caution you to ensure you purchase the correct bundle from the point. Find out from your professor which you need. Ask her for the link to the specific bundle because the bundle will come with the ebook and also prepU and vSim which are integral to passing the course. It makes no sense to just purchase the ebook.

I am taking the course with this professor as well. I copied the ISBN in Amazon and was able to get it for $150. I also rented a paperback text for $23 just because I study better from an actual text.
I haven't searched for the book but 160 for the eBook is way better than 300+ but.... have you found it elsewhere? I prefer a book rather reading from the computer
I did micro and AP2 in spring. So AP2 and pharms can be done just lots of dedication and tears to get you through???. I’m serious on the tears but though. I had to let it flow half way through the summer semester.

Yeah I think Im going to do what @Cuteflute82 did and rent/buy the book off amazon! Glad to know there's a few of us in the same class!!
I think I'm going buy the ebook with the code for $160 from the website first and then see how the first few weeks are using the ebook... I don't really care for them and prefer an actual book but willing to give it a chance before spending more money?

I’m like you so I bought the 6th edition used on amazon for under $8. There are a few differences like meds removed or meds added but you have the ebook to supplement.
the $160 is not just for ebook it’s for prepU and yes you will use prepU everyday because you have to do a chapter test for each chapter and you also have weekly quizzes to do.
Look at buying the older edition or renting the newer edition just to have that actual copy.
The ebook has a read aloud feature which I utilize with the actual book by following along.
