Lone Star Spring 2020 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.

The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.

I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?

If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

I was wondering the same thing . My test is next Thursday

Do anyone by chance know the school id for north Harris ? I am trying to register for the HESI at a distance learning center .

Hey guys, I was wondering what the critical thinking section consists of?

I plan to apply to Kingwood for the Spring 2021 start date. I was hoping to gain some insight from those of you who are finishing up the semester. What color are the scrubs? What is the scheduling like? What hospitals do you go to for clinicals? Studying tips? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Scrubs are pewter grey but you will be wearing blue for Spring 2021. Lectures 2 days and labs on either of those days. Your days will be Wednesday and Thursdays. Clinicals will be either a mon, tues, fri or sat. Sites are done based on availability as well as they try to locate you close to zip code. That’s my view on clinicals. Rehabilitation hospitals.

Make sure you take great notes. Don’t over do the notes though. Also do practice questions. I found Saunders comprehensive RN really good. Buy it new so that you get the access code as that will give you tons of practice questions.

my biggest study tip is practice questions. It will get your mind ready for what the real test questions are like.

I'm at NH. I like it! It's been a good experience...They do seem more lenient but still stick to the rules bigtime. The instructors are good too. I'm happy I came here.

Hi IsraelG,

I was wondering, is there another way that I can contact you (email, FB, etc.)? I can't seem to PM anyone on this site, but I have a few questions I would like to ask you about the NH ADN program. Please let me know, thanks ?

My email is [email protected]

Thank you so much! This information has helped me tremendously! Good luck on the rest of your journey.

Hi I’m having trouble getting together my hep b Shots. I got my booster shot back in February, because I got a negative titer. But I haven’t gotten any since then. Do y’all know if I put another booster shot right now in June, when the third one will be? Thanks

Does anyone know how the clep would factor in. I graduated with a BS already but had taken the CLEP to get my english 1&2 credit so how would that work with the application process? I havent taken the HESI yet but just got an A in the Summer A&P class. Any help is appreciated as I really don't want to retake english as I hate it.

Unfortunately Lone Star does not accept CLEP courses; you would have to take Engl so that a grade can be computed for the score they use for the application.

I actually talked to someone in the nursing department and since it’s a transfer credit they’ll take it and it just won’t count either way for or against the points balance . Thanks though.
