From reading everyone that got into Lone Star nursing programs I hypothesized one very important point. Correct me if I'm wrong but if you get anything less than A's in English and A&P there is NO chance of admission.
The only instance I calculated a chance is a "B" in English, an "A" in A&P and a perfect 100% on the HESI. Other than that, A's in your classes with a minimum 88% on the exam is my observed formula for entrance.
I see why so many (myself included) get so worked up about the HESI. Anyone else taking the test next week at a Lone Star?
If anyone has taken A&P at a Lone Star over a summer session, how did you find attaining an A over the six-week period? Also, if anyone wants to part with a lab book...(?)

If you’re doing the pharmacology course online with Kingwood then the book comes as part of the CoursePoint program that you must purchase. That program includes prepU, ebook and the vSim.
Hope that helps. I purchased my directly from the company as it was cheaper. I emailed my professor once the course opened up and she provided me with a direct link to the actual package that I needed and I saved even more. So just wait until class opens up and ask for clarification or the direct link and you will be all set.
Guys some advice for those doing pharmacology at Kingwood. Stay on top of every due date. Note when are your initial posting dates and when are reply dates. I know a couple people who got zero because they posted late or forgot to post at all. Your grade takes a dive with a zero even if it’s discussions. Also look at the rubic and make sure you hit every aspect to maximize your points.
Do a lot of practice questions after each chapter and in preparation of the exams. Those questions will help and you may see some on the exam but worded differently but at least you have an idea of what to expect from the exams as you have seen the drugs so many times that you know exactly what it’s about and how if functions.
I have my finals this week and that has worked for me so I thought I would share.
Wish you all the best in your upcoming pharmacology course.

How much is the package that you bought? I’m hoping that it isn’t $300 ?

Mine was under $200 but I didn’t have to get the one that included vSim. I think for Fall you may have to get the package with vSim but wait until the course opens up and ask. The website was way cheaper than the school.
Also the first week is to get you oriented and to get the package then you hit the ground running.
You will have a syllabus quiz, syllabus acknowledgement, pre medication quiz (it’s ok to not know anything as it’s not counted towards your grades) and also need to print and sign the integrity document. All of those are done in the first week. After you complete then the course actually opens up. That was the case for my class.
JK I didn’t see the previous post before I commented!!
I don’t know. I think the one they want us to buy includes an online code and text book? I’ve found the textbook only on amazon for like $60 to buy and 20 something to rent. I think I’m going to buy it from amazon and then try and buy the code only once the class starts. There’s usually a way to purchase just a code instead of the combo. ?

I reached out the professor for my course and she provided me with the ISBN number and link to the CoursePoint site where the book was available. I purchased it last week and have set up an an account so that I at least have access to the book and started studying. The "book" came in a DVD like case that included a card with an access code on the back and was $150.

Discussions are scenarios for eg. AD is diagnosed as hypertensive what are the important things to teach AD about being hypertensive and how could AD manage his hypertensive.
You are to use in text citations and list references.
We had to create handouts, and upload videos of ourselves doing demonstrations as part of discussions and you must reply to at two people most times.
