I just wanted to start a new thread for kingwood/cyfair applicants. This is the moment I have been waiting for for 2 years! I will be turning in my application when I return from vacation next week. My score is at 11.489 as of yesterday! I took the Hesi....again....yesterday and will be going on vacation Mon. I don't think my score has gone in yet either.
Anyway...I'm hoping that my score will be good enough for this time around. What was everyone elses score? I think the cut off the last couple years has been 11.4.
I have created this thread because I know that this site has been extremely helpful for me! And I want to return the favor for whoever else is applying or working towards applying! Also, in order for us to chat or whatever else while we are waiting soooo long for a letter!
If ANYONE has any questions...just ask and I will try the best of my ability to answer it. I know quite a bit about this program, so I'm sure I can help in some way! :heartbeat

As far as Pharm... they said they would register those who need it once all the background checks are processed. I believe they said the Pharm classes are blocked from registration anyway (only they can access it for the Spring).
Yea I was born and raised a Saints fan too, even when we sucked...lol. Every game, my whole family has their Brees and Bush jerseys on. We def get a lot of attention when we where them.....lets just say....interesting attention...if that makes any sense. Thanks for the Pharm info, I was almost positive thats what we should do, but seemed to have missed that at orientation.
congrats!! and SAINTS ALL THE WAY!!! WHO DAT?? was born in Charity Catholic hospital! how long will it take to go to class in the kingswood campus? I'm contemplating to add that as my secondary when i apply again. IDK if i can hack driving 1hr 1 way (if it take that long, I don't even know how traffic is like out there). SO the decision is to add kingswood or not. I originally planed to only apply to Cy-Fair (only 25 mins away) but if it gives me a way way bigger chance to get into the college then i might do it. but the drive will be killer!!!!
Wow, so glad to see so many SAINTS fans on here....lol. Charity hasn't opened since Katrina, but I'm pretty sure they're working on it. Speaking of....that's like the best hospital to do clinicals at in LA b/c you pretty much "see" everything!
My drive isn't that long, but it's not short either. I live in Magnolia off of 1488 and it takes me a lil bit to get there too. But here's the way I see it.....it's only 2 days a week. So it wont be that bad.
Thangbom321 it can't hurt to add Kingwood as a secondary. It's what I did. Cyfair first pick and Kingwood second. I also live about 50 minutes from Kingwood without traffic, but I was determined to start nursing school right away and luckily Cyfair accepted me. Good luck...I wish you the best on your journey.
thanks eeeira. I kno wit cant hurt to add kingswood but it's really far andi dont own a car. I take whatever i can get from the family (if and when they are not using it), so the travel is a factor. I do own a motorcycle however, but it is no fun riding in the cold, heat or rain (imagine ridin in the cold.. it's just cold moving 50+mph, riding in the heat with a leather jacket, yes! i care that much about my safety, and the rain.. i dont how to say anything about that).
deniseRN2b Yes i did get them with the cd's or so they said I would get them . when i get them i will let u know if I got the cds. one thing I did have problems with my bank because I ordered 4 books from barns n nobel and I was chargd for 8 ($305 over charged ) so I have to go and talk to my bank. I called barns and nobel but they say my account only shows me being charged once for 4 books, and that my bank is the one at fault. So im a little irritated because i have a negative balance because of it and that (305)was most of my rent money.
I'm so sorry nina..I hope everything work out for u.. I think Imma wait to buy my books or at least the ones that need a cd bcuz when I look on barnes and noble or amazon it doesn't specify if the cd is included. I went up to kingwood today and the books aren't there. They said maybe sometime next week...Guess I just gotta be patient..

I know what you mean... I have a big Saints helmet magnet on the back of my Tahoe and I get cut-off and honked at all the time! Makes me wanna add another one...lol !!!! Nobody is gonna stop me from representing!!!

Girl I go to school with my jersey on allll the time!!! And on the same days, my lil boy wears his to school (daycare).
I know at orientation they told us that if we receive fin aid, they will cover all the books....How do I go about that? At Montgomery, we request and pick up book vouchers...Is that the case at Kingwood too? They never mentioned anything about that. I'm sure they will tell me when I register though.

I personally don't care for online classes. A lot of people love them though. I guess its just your preference. I can say that a lot of online classes require a lot of reading. However, a lot give the tests online as well and you can use your notes. HCC vs/ Lone Star...I couldn't answer that question. I know nothing about HCC. I love Lone Star though. Mini terms have been great for me!!! I love them! I took A&P II in the summer (6 weeks) and I loved it. Hope this helped a little. Hopefully someone else will know more!! lol
