I just wanted to start a new thread for kingwood/cyfair applicants. This is the moment I have been waiting for for 2 years! I will be turning in my application when I return from vacation next week. My score is at 11.489 as of yesterday! I took the Hesi....again....yesterday and will be going on vacation Mon. I don't think my score has gone in yet either.
Anyway...I'm hoping that my score will be good enough for this time around. What was everyone elses score? I think the cut off the last couple years has been 11.4.
I have created this thread because I know that this site has been extremely helpful for me! And I want to return the favor for whoever else is applying or working towards applying! Also, in order for us to chat or whatever else while we are waiting soooo long for a letter!
If ANYONE has any questions...just ask and I will try the best of my ability to answer it. I know quite a bit about this program, so I'm sure I can help in some way! :heartbeat
I guess I'll see everyone there..Sometimes I wish I applied to the online program, but I can't see myself being that self discipline lol...But a friend of mine got in with a score of 11.2. And I have 11.4 so I know I wouldn't def. got in, but I just gotta continue to be patient..Oh well I know it'll work out for the best... Is anyone nervous about tomorrow? I'm sooooo ready:yeah:
I'm not nervous...just really really excited! lol I want to know everything so I can figure out what needs to be done...I just want to know all the money I'm gonna have to spend!! lol on scrubs...stethescope...tuition...all that jazz. Do we start clinicals right away or what? I don't know. Guess we'll find out tomorrow!
The day is finally here..Only a couple hours away..I'm gonna ask alot of questions too lol hopefully we can find out what number alternates we are denise...I believe my score is the same as yours. I have Faith we're getting in and thats including all the alternates (CMA44 too). Ok ttyl after orientation..:heartbeat
you think you guys/gals can ask around and find out the lowest score is? I'm applying again for next application period and already have my gen phsy scheduled (doing the winter mester).
Did everyone make it to orientation? I did and I actually enjoyed it. What about the unannounced surprise lol? I'm so happy I'm ok so I have nothing to worry about. I don't want to mention it bcuz I don't know if I should, but if u went to orientation U know what I'm talking about. Hopefully everyone did well.. I had a blast...What about u all??? Also noone talked about scores or at least I didn't hear it....Sorry
I made it to orientation,,, Everyone was very nice and yes that surprise was surprising, but thankfully I have nothing to worry about neither. Oh and guess what!!! A spot for sure opened today I witnessed it with my own eyes so look forward for a call...Keep your phones nearby! I'm too excited I also took my library pic today. Anyone else?
Oh the surprise...lol. It seemed like the room got a little tense after it was announced....anyone else think so? I'm glad I don't have anything to worry about!!! The people that did....here's my take on it too bad so sad...lol Anyways...I'm super excited. I just wish this background check stuff would hurry and get here. I really really really need certain days! So I wish it would get here. And I took my badge picture yesterday. Soooo excited!!! OH! Does anyone know what is considered out-of-district. B/c I've had a mix-up before and DO NOT want that to happen again. The school never even reimbursed me for those charges. And if you wonder how much more they were charging just compare the fees on the handout of prices you got yesterday!! It's crazy. Anywho....I'm in Magnolia ISD so does anyone know if I will get charged out-of-district? I sure hope not.
You are crazy Coulter, but it's the truth lol "too bad so sad"...The room did get very quiet and there were no exceptions...lol Anyways I honestly don't know if you are out of district, but what you can do is register for a class now and look at the charge...After you see your due payment...drop the class...or call the school to verify...Wish I could help, but I can't think of anything else. I honestly dislike the fact that we have to buy all our books up front, although I am blessed to have the money...I'm still like gosh..what about people that cannot afford it..I think they need a better plan.
Hey so all you kingwood'er's who went to orientation today... what was this big 'secret' that you all are talking about... or is it confidential???? I am going to cyfair in Jan. but didn't know if there was something I needed to prepare myself for at our orientation... I know that cyfair and kingwood's programs are very different but didn't know if there was something I needed to get ready for haha.
I would tell you, but I don't think it's fair to others. It's really nothing to worry about if you are serious about going to nursing school and becoming a nurse. You have to be well prepared and honestly what happened at our orientation may not happen at yours. I doubt if they will do that, but make sure that you are aware. For example, nothing bad on your background check, etc. Just make sure u r ready for nursing because they are very serious..
hey denisern2b, do we pay for the library card or is it free. yes, i enjoyed orientation too. the surprise was funny but hopefully we all did well. lol.
