LNA teacher threatened by student

Hi I have been teaching since april and had to fail my first student last week. She did not pass the clinical portion. She would leave people wet not wash them when changing ect. When she was told she wasnt going to pass she became angry which I can comprehend. What I cant comprehend is what she did next. she picked up my cell phone threw it at me broke into many pieces when it hit the wall. slammed the door into the other teacher and told the other students that she was going to kill those bi++++s. The police were called and she now has a no trespass order. She was seen driving around the classroom twice hours later. When I got my new cell phone I had an anonymous message telling me to watch my back bit++

Now I am having semi panic attacks when going to class. Im afraid to get out of my car afraid to go out to my car when class is over. I was grocery shopping and was hyperventilating thinking what if she is here. I am basically scared. Im rationally telling myself that nothing is going to happen. That she wont do anything. But Im still scared because you hear stories of people who do crazy things. Im not sure how to get over this. any help would be appreciated.

I'd get a restraining order against her.

I agree!!!

File charges of assault, she placed you in fear, thats at least 4th degree Assault. File for destruction of property or criminal mischief for destroying your phone. If you see her again after you file the restraining order charge her with harrasment. I know this is a little much but your better to send her the message now that you are not going to put up with any of her BS. :nono:

A civil suit would not be out of the question for reimbursement for the broken cell phone. Sometimes when these type people know that you are not afraid to take them to court they know then to leave you alone. Good luck.

Make that was. :nono:

Just think of what could have happened if she did pass and was angered by a patient.

Get a restraining order and request reimbursement for the phone.

I agree with the above posts, send a message this behavior will not be tolerated.:studyowl:

How about a PFA (protection from abuse) order?

Protection from abuse if necessary, a civil suit and prepare for future confrontations in public if they occur. Ignore her unless she approaches you, then be strong, assertive and agressive if necessary. Don't back down, step toward her, tell her to leave you alone. She is probably very insecure and has acted out with inappropriate behavior that has worked in the past. If she backs away then just leave. This shows indifference and she no longer controls you with her weird behaviors. If she acts agressively, steps toward you, spits, swears, threatens...Yell for someone to call police NOW. Step toward her again and continue to yell for help.

Preparing for the worse gives you power and confidence, usually none of the above ever has to be implemented as you are prepared for everything and anything. Being prepared also allows you to sleep and work and live in peace.

Also think about carrying mace or pepper spray... (wow!)
