  1. my sister had surgery in new york and i am with her in recovery, her surgeon came in to check on her and she is very happy to see him saying in a very loud voice how good he smells and then procedes to tell him and the entire staff in the room that he must get more ass than a toilet seat. She was telling him how the nurses had told her that a lot of the Dr;s wear wedding rings but arent really married. so she asks him how many nurses he has done in the storage closets. Im telling her to be quiet but she was having none of that. her follow up appt with him was very very funny as she remembered what she said and felt like crawling under the table :)
  2. orthopedic surgery. the sound the smell the hammering the violence of it. We got a moose this year and we butchered it ourselves I had to leave during the bone sawing part. Just the thought makes me queasy
  3. I am a huge pain advocate. I have seen many people suffer needlesly. PAIN IS NOT OUR FRIEND. If someone tells me they are in pain I beleive them. I will medicate and do other things to help them reposition, massage, enviormental factors. Pain is so subjective adn some people can be absolutely stoic and be in excrutiating pain and others have low thresholds and are screaming at a splinter. My motto is noone should die alone and noone should be in pain. just my 2c

hi fellow nh person :) Have you seen the study guide books that are out there? I have heard of many people getting real help from them. Try not to stress too much that can be detrimental. Get a good nights sleep eat a great breakfast.
  5. we never document in the nurses note the incident report. It is an inside document usually used for safety meetings and ways to prevent things from happening again. If you mention it in your nursing notes then outside people can request to see it.
  6. I woek in a home for adults with brain injuries. Gtubes trachs lots of rehab. We have 11 people who live there. I get to spend a lot of time with each resident. It is a fantastic job.

  9. on our first day of class our instructor said look to your right now look to your left one of these people wont be here at the end of this program. We literally lost half our class by the end. we thought she was kidding nope. It is a hard program but if you put your mind to it you will be fine. I graduated with a 3.96 gpa while being a single mom to a 1 year old.
  10. once 75 questions. took me about 45 minutes too. I started the test with the following questions are practice. so I am going along and must have missed the part where it said your test is starting. I started freaking when I got to about 50 questions thinking oh no then when it shut off at 75 I was so worried but passed; thank the lord
  11. I see that range of motion is hugely missed on a lot of patients. oral care for sure is at the top. Actually cleaning the ears with qtips and for patients who are unable cleaning the noses. I work with brain injured people and so many have crusty noses inside. It would drive me crazy to not be able to blow my nose. Turning patients every two hours/
  12. I am an LPN and I do long term care insurance assessments for lifeplans they are based out of mass but do exams accross the country. Welcome to LifePlans. It's not about risk ... it's about relationships.
