LIU Brooklyn ABSN FALL 2021

Published

Cannot seem to find a thread for LIU Brooklyn for the Fall of 2021. Decided to make a thread to hopefully find some other students applying to LIU for this upcoming fall to hopefully share and discuss any updates and encourage each other through the process of waiting for a decision! ?

@AriP were you reached out to via email regarding scheduling an appointment to register for the fall and to reply with your current schedule?

This seems so money-hungry to me. No offense to the institution but retake a B- course after you've already accepted the student?! smh

Hi All. Same thing happen to me. I have to re take Algebra because is over five years old, and General BIO. I asked if I take the classes and have B or better if I can start the accelerated program in the fall but they couldn’t guarantee it. Instead, she said I can take the CLEP exam to make up for the math, and do the BIO over the Summer (at LIU or another school) and start the traditional in the fall. I think that’s what I am aiming for. I figure settle for the traditional because I don’t want to wait until Spring. And if I take the math class and don’t get in the accelerated it’s going to be a lot of money and a waste of time. I will be taking general bio at another school. As long as you send them the screen shot of the registration they can help you enroll into the classes for the fall.

Yes they reached out to me by email to set up an appointment then told me. I add the same issues with my courses and I asked if any exceptions could be made since the grade was so close.

I tried to fight it, but they wouldn't budge... I totally respect and get that a requirement is a requirement, but what is a b- vs a b in stats taken FOUR years ago going to change??

Maybe you can ask if taking the CLEP makes up the credits for you. Maybe CLEP exam has a Statistics edition..  for Algebra they said I can.

@Hgonz622 were you already accepted to the accelerated program and now switching due to complication with courses? At first I didn't want to start late but I am considering it depending on living situation since I will be moving form the west coast.

I received an email last week about scheduling an appt to speak with an advisor, I replied but haven't heard back yet.. I did already enroll for the three courses that I have to take at a different school for this Summer but I hope I can still secure a schedule in the program for fall to avoid late registration.

I do not see the point of this whatsoever. Maybe look for a community college? Much cheaper than their ridiculous tuition rate. ?

I think they'rere trying to limit the number of students. At one point they had the tease. They removed and they started getting a lot of more applications. The school is known for having limited clinical spots. I even went up to the school one day last year to talk to the students in the program. Some student was having clinical in the college and not in the hospital.

I agree. I decided to take the course in a community college
