LIU Brooklyn ABSN FALL 2021

Cannot seem to find a thread for LIU Brooklyn for the Fall of 2021. Decided to make a thread to hopefully find some other students applying to LIU for this upcoming fall to hopefully share and discuss any updates and encourage each other through the process of waiting for a decision! ?

Hey guys I have a question about the bio prerequisite. Are they looking for bio 1 AND 2 or is just bio 1 OK??? I kept calling but couldnt get the definite answer... can somebody please help me out if they know ????

I believe it’s just BiO 1 General BIO with lab. I say email (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME); she usually gets back fast. Send her a screenshot of the course you will enroll for and ask her if it’s acceptable.

I was told as well that its just gen bio 1 w/ lab!

Hey guys, I've been accepted to LIU as well! After much going back and forth and speaking to prior LIU students I bit the bullet and gave in my deposit to attend LIU. I dropped my Summer BIO 1 though so ill have to complete that. Does anyone know what happens after securing your seat? Shall I reach out for a counseling meeting? I have yet to hear anything.

Hey! I also put in my deposit to attend LIU and im just completing 2 of prerequisites over the Summer. I got an email to set up an appointment with counselor to register for courses  and I'm waiting for my transfer credits to get posted! But that email did take a few weeks so I think you'll be getting an email shortly too

Hey guys! I recently received a conditional acceptance. And it said that math and science had to be within the 5 years. Did you guys have to retake any of the the math courses because it had passed the 5 years or only the science courses? I am currently finishing chem and my science courses would be up to date. I tried emailing everyone at liu but haven’t received a response yet and want to know if I need to retake the math!

A few weeks? Ah man, I'm worried about the good scheduled classes filling up quickly. I think ill try to reach out in the meantime perhaps later or tomorrow. I only need BIO 1, my college is no longer offering it so I need to look at other options to fulfill this or just take it at LIU. :/

I think a previous poster; perhaps she can address this better, said she had to retake her statistics course because of the grade value. My best guess is they do force people to do retakes.

Also; when they sent out the acceptance did you guys send out official or unofficial transcripts. Because I’m still taking courses it doesn’t make sense to send official, it’s so hard to talk to admissions. Smh.

I sent my officials today but if your acceptance is conditional maybe wait on sending the officials? perhaps until all your grades are in. That's what I did.

Hey all! last month or so I received a conditional acceptance, spoke with someone names (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and he told to reach out after I was almost done with classes. I did that and he never responses but someone else named (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) did. He told me that they are bit behind but said he would look and my application to make sure everything was good then give a final decision. That was last week and then yesterday I got my official acceptance. I was able to call admissions at the school and they put me in touch with a woman named (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME). She has enrolled me in classes and is now putting me in touch with financial aid so I can get that all sorted out. I still feel a little confused about everything and am hoping someone from the nursing department will reach out to me directly now that I am officially enrolled. Im still currently finishing my undergrad but I will be done next month. On my LIU student center I have a whole to do list but most of them I cant do until I am officially done with this classes. I also was told the program is 80k. I know getting information is hard so I figured id give a little insight as to what my process was.
