LIttman Brass/Black stethoscope Stand out?

I was looking at stethoscopes today, and I noticed a brass and black one. Anybody have one of these? I think this would be easier to recognize than just different colored tubing and engravings, so maybe it won't "walk off". What do you think? It's kind of ugly, but I don't really care.:redbeathe

That sounds nice what webite did you see this on? I am in need of one too, And it woould be diffrent for you to get one this color you would def. know it's yours if anyone had it! so, I say go for it if you have to buy one anyways!

I don't remember which website it was, but I also saw a copper/brown one that I like even better!

I like the copper & brown, but I think I'm gonna get an all black one for myself as a graduation present. =)

They are beautiful in person, but unfortunately will not guarantee loss. Any good looking Littman gets taken from me :( I've lost 3 special editions, cardiology, etc. and they even had my name engraved on them.

A brand new RN that I once worked with got one of the special edition Littmans as a graduation present from her husband. Some of the people at work made comments about it developing feet or disappearing, and I had no doubt that another Littman might find another home. Littmans have a habit of changing owners even if they are engraved. I have had one stolen from me and try to be careful with its replacement.

I have a littman cardiology and I love it! When I'm using it I wear it around my neck, and when I'm done with it I put it away in my bag. If a physician asks to use it (why don't they have stethoscopes??) I hound them until I get it back. I've had to page a doc once just to ask for my stethoscope back! Keep your eyes on it at work...and a unique color might help you recognize it, but I don't think it would stop anyone else from walking off with it :uhoh3:

Yeah. I got mine in a color I knew nobody on my floor had at the time and also a different style from anyone else. It also has a few personalized things on it so when I see it I know its mine. Much easier to spot and also if someone did decide to walk with it theyd have a hard time explaining themselves.

I just got the brown and copper cardiology recently...It is a nice looking steth....and I am happy with it... I got engraving on the bell for free

I almost lost it once in the parking lot but lucky for me my instructor found it.

The ONLY way I will let a clinician borrow my scope requires that they surrender their Hospital ID. That ensures that I get my scope back because they are NOT going to get very far w/o their ID. IF they don't have their ID....I usually require depositing of their cell phone, wallet, car keys, or their belt.

I see the brown/copper mention! That's my question! Is it boyish looking? That's the scope I'm currently scoping, lol! But am curious on how it looks in person? Are you ladies who have that?

I'm a girl and responded above that I have the choc/brass. I wouldn't describe it as boyish. I think it is classy and professional looking. My steth before this one was a bright orange one that picked up colors from my scrubs that I could not get off, and made it look dirty. So that was a factor in choosing a darker color for me.
