I have a FF who just so happened to "get sick" at the same time as his best friend who had a fever and was going home. He was showing NO signs of illness. He came back two more times literally running into my office to report that he threw up but didn't tell anyone but me. I contacted the teacher who said he had been fine. I called his mom after he left the 3rd time and we laughed about what a great actor her son is and how she was going to talk to him tonight.
Well...
Guess who just threw up on his desk?
He reported that he asked to come back "like 100 times" and the teacher wouldn't let him. Which I don't blame her at all. And now mom isn't answering, most likely because it's 10 mins until dismissal.

Perhaps he worked himself up into a frenzy and that is what caused him to vomit :)

I had a kid visit me twice in three times in one day. No fever no vomiting. Sent him back to class for the third time. 5 minutes later the principal (who I get along with very well) walks him back to me and says, "Guess who just puked in the gym?" Doh!

You just can't win em all. Every school nurse should be gifted a crystal ball :)

You should just have a chat with him about being careful what he wishes for. For example, faking a limp could cause a leg to swell up and fall off. (Just kidding, everyone.)

GmaPearl, I have your profile pic saying on the back of a t-shirt. Which I wear on School Nurse Day.
The good news: you talked to mom. There you go!

One of our FF kept coming to my wife with complaints, kept sending him back with push PO. Well this morning he came in with AB Rx for sinus infection. Truly, no different treatment, but I may have given Motrin. Mom told him in front of me, this is why you don't come to the nurse all the time with little complaints. LOVE it!
