hi all !!
i wanted to start a thread for applicants for 2011 lichson, ill like to hear your process and just be there for all and go through the wait together. i know that hard parts are over with just the gruesome part is here WAITING! hope there some ppl out there going through the same thing as i
stina78, thank you for agreeing to sign our petition. I understand your concerns and you should do whatever feels right and follow your heart but at the same time many of us are extreamly upset over what happened and we will not take this laying on our backs and play dead either. Looking into history a lot of great leaders thought that they are helpless and one voice cant make a difference but they didnt give up. They kept pressing forward, making their voice heard. Screaming that they will not go down into the night! they will survive! fight for their rights as human beings. THIS IS AMERICA!! Created by the people for the people. WE the People have a duty and an obligation to ourselves to stand up and be heard. Look at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., (Noble Peace Prize 1964), Rosa Parks( refused to go to the back of the bus) altered history as we know it, Susan B. Anthony ( stood up on behalf of all women to be heard and vote). So looking back in history ONE person CAN and WILL make a difference. AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW YOUR HEART, YOU CAN DO NO HARM!!!!!
hi all,
Thanks to school587 and her web site on how to get the community involved I went into the site that you suggested and found out a lot of great information including all the officials(assemblywomen/assemblymen,U.S. Republicans) involved, president of SUNY Downstate, even the president of the community (Maria Pagano) who fought for the hospital to stay open. All this information will be very useful in our fight.
I'm a very optimistic person BUT the bottom line is unless you had a Plan B or C school ur situation may not be all that bad (granted what LICHSON has done) but if u were some that applied to ONLY LICHSON well then ur screwed in regards to searching and applying to another school in the Tri-State area for Fall 2011....my goodness its just too late...UNLESS the school has twice a year admission for ex: Spring and Fall. One can TRY for Spring 2012 but....it's June, not enough time.
I know money might be a challenge for many people, but you should never just apply to one school. Or in life, you should always have options. I learned my lesson when I finished my undergrad last year. So I made sure I applied to Hostos, Bronx Community College and New York City Tech. Monroe, LIU and a few other schools. The only reason I did not give up LICH yet, is because its convenient for me. I can work here and I can go right to class if I need to. I'm really sorry for those who only applied to LICH, I am praying with you for some good new. I'm not giving up hope.
How are we going to get this petition started?
i can answer that. For one thing we need a little more people joining our cause. We have 8 so far and counting. Than if nobody minds i will write the petition and we will meet up at a convenient place for everyone and hand sign it. Than i will make copies and send it to the right places. And take it from there...

Hey Stina78,
Remember St. Paul's is a "for profit school" -- why not call Beth Isreal -- it follows the same course schedule as LICHSON!
