  1. Hey all! Ok, so it's now 2018! Anyone take the Pharm exam recently? Any changes? Words of advise? Is it really similar to the RN.com study guide? Truly appreciate it...

  3. Check your pm. Thanks I called
  4. Good evening. I sent you a PM reply a couple days ago.
  5. Wanted to bump up this thread! Inquiring on the NYP hiring process as I've had my face to face interview exactly 2 weeks ago today. Two interviews in one day, 1st one at the TA recruiting center, then was sent for the 2nd one at the Lower Manhattan Hospital location with the unit director. Both went exeptionally well, I think. Was asked the basic interview questions in the beginning, not many then it turned into giving me pay scale and benefit details, also the shift details. As I were writing this down, the TA recruiter stated I didnt need to and that I'd get it all in the email package. (hint or not). I was also sent by her the link to fill out my references. All references sent in to date. For the 2nd interview I was sent to the Hospital to meet the unit director and was shown around the unit and was introduced to staff etc. Although I left out of there feeling as if I got it and they loved me. This wait is extremely nerve wrecking and is making me lose faith. I sent a follow-up email 3 days ago inquiring about the decision process and still no word. Was told by a current employee there that HR moves slow and this will take time. Any advise?
  6. Thank you for the offer. Where are you located?
  7. Good day ppl, need some concrete advise here. As long as I've wanted to be a nurse, I wanted my specialty to be in L&D. My maternity clinical rotation during nursing school was by far the best...of course. It was my reason WHY I became a nurse. To make a long story short... *Graduated ADN Dec 2015 * Passed NCLEX-RN July 2016 Been working as a Hematology/Oncology nurse since passing NCLEX, so for a little over a year now. Ended up in this specialty because at this facility, I worked for 5 years as a Medical Asst. They supported me through nursing school, once passing NCLEX I was offered an RN position and accepted. I have 3 more classes left before obtaining my BSN in Feb 2018. Just recently had my cover letter and resume professionally done, tailoring to my desire of working in L&D/Mother Baby/NICU. Decided to start applying to diff hospitals in my area for L&D and have been turned down by every one due to my lack of L&D experience. I won't give up on applying for open positions. Please advise me on how best to get into this specialty, entry level. Any advise on taking certification classes specifically for L&D (ex: fetal heart rate monitoring), do you think it'll better my chances? How do I go about doing so? When should I do it? Greatly appreciate your feed back. Thank you
  8. Hey everyone, wanted to start a new thread for this on-line program. I'm starting Waldens RN-BSN program next week, along with a former classmate of mine from my ADN (RN) program. We'll be each others support system (once again). Thus far, it's been a positive experience since getting information and enrolling with WU, hope it remains this way up until graduation. Any current students, please chime in with experiences, and words of encouragement etc... If there's an FB page for student interaction, please include the link. I wish everyone much success on your academic endeavors.
  9. PURCHASE UWORLD & Lacharity's PDA ASAP! and re-take the exam within the 45 day period (if you can). Be sure to still study ALL areas when you get your NCLEX report back but focus more attention to your weak categories. Diligently stick to those two study materials above, make sure to pay attention & thoroughly read the rationals. You shall not go wrong, you WILL pass the next time, we all fall short. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE...all the best to you!
  10. *Bumped Graduated DEC 2015 (ADN program) Recently passed NCLEX-RN, leaning twrds applying to this school for my RN-BSN. Also looking at Chamberlain & Excelsior's programs... Any latest news on Capella from current and past students? Likes/dislikes? Thank you
  11. Hey guys, congrats to all those that have passed! Quest: how do I go about retrieving my OMITTED questions in UWorld? Thanx
  12. If this isn't theee best encouraging post I've ever read on AN, idk what is! God bless you for even trying to help those out there get over this NCLEX hump cause boy it ain't easy. :bookworm:This should be made into a STICKY...AWESOME!
  13. Congratulations to those who received acceptance and DON'T GIVE Up...ever!, to those that didn't!!! I myself am a student at MSON, currently in N4 (the last semester) scheduled to graduate in 6 days. The advise I have is to study hard, your going to be pushed mentally, physically & emotionally HARDER than you've ever been...please take heed to what I just stated. If you give it your ALL, and think positive, you WILL make it. I don't care if you failed or barely passed a unit exam or two...it has passed, don't keep looking back pondering, move on and aim to do better, above and beyond moving fwd. Please for the love of God: PURCHASE SAUNDERS NCLEX-RN STUDY GUIDE (the yellow 5th edition or the latest purple 6th edition) It helped me tremendously through RN school, especially for unit exams. It gives you the meat & potatoes (s & s, nursing interventions) of what's important w/o all the fluff. You may not always walk w/ confidence and its understandable because if anything RN school is going to PUSH you, doesn't matter the obstacle-train your being and mind to KNOW that you will & can make it. All the best to you future RN's...What sustained me was prayer & confidence. If I can do it: working f/t, commuting from far, with a family, crack of dawn risings for Saturday clinicals, having to study day in & day out...SO CAN YOU! No EXCUSES! You have any questions, feel free to PM me.
  14. :woot:Yep, for my 3rd out of 4 semester's I'm facing (Psych) Mental Health/Medsurg 2 and Leadership. Words of advise by those that "been there, done that" is very much appreciated...Thank you and ALL THE BEST to you #FutureNurses for 2015!
  15. NS survival doesn't come easy. My 1st semester/Fundamentals I purchased the FA Davis "Fundamentals Success" and Saunders NCLEX-RN (Purple or Yellow cover, doesn't matter) after not doing so hot on my first exam. I suggest you do the same because you need to get into the practice of answering alot of nclex style questions under your belt. With each semester it only gets harder IMO. Those two books helped me alot, I passed with a "B", and I'm happy with that. Im taking MedSurg now and I'm still using my NCLEX-RN book along with new FA Davis "MedSurg success" and "Pharmocology success". Good luck to you...
