hi all !!

hi all,
i am glad to see that people are on board with me when i said we need to rise together and overcome any obstacles that might be thrown our way. POWER IN NUMBERS. Having said that I think it would be wise to sign a petition rather than writing independently mainly because i think a petition carries more weight than everyone send their own letters. Here is why i think petition is better. When individuals writing separate letters they can not see or remember just how many people complained. Its hard to keep account of the amount of people. But when writing a petition everyone's names are in one paper and it makes a world of difference when officials reading the petition and see the amount of people that are not satisfied with whats going on. It will have a greater impact on officials. Let me know what u guys think
I agree with writing a letter but I have a feeling that's going to take too long - I will be writing anyway. We have a few weeks left before the start of the semester, I think we need to hit the phones as well as contacting our local news stations.
Lets just try to keep the letters professional looking and not just a complete angry rant. Save those for later.
I don't think many online petitions turn up successful, and there are a lot of random websites to choose from, which means which is considered the right one to use? I believe a hard copy petition is something that may work - but that is going to take a lot of time as well, something we currently don't have.
@guests viewing this page: I've been seeing a few guests floating around. Please join our conversation by making an account. We need more voices - this forum is actually a good record of what has been going on. I have only recently made an account cause I don't usually like to post on forums but everyone's story counts. Please make an account and tell us how you feel / what you've been going through - Thanks.

dear coffeecrisp, pls do not contact a local news channel as this will for one thing bring way too much attention. Dont get me wrong we do want attention but to a point. a petition is strong and can have very good positive results. contacting news channel might have some serious repercussion like ******* and embarrassing the college and i can almost guarantee no one will get into a program. The committee will simply say they were good candidates but not good enough to enter their program and there is no way to prove them otherwise because ultimately they make the last decision. We will all be rejected. A petition on the other hand serves only one purpose and does not let the world know and embarrass the school and does let the higher ups know we mean business. Hope this makes sence.
Also, we do have time to create this petition because the school DOES NOT START IN A FEW WEEKS. the sememster should have started in mid-August.
hi all, i am glad to see there we are united in a common cause. What I do suggest is instead of creating an online petition, i dont know how effective it is but rather all meet up in a certain spot which can be agreed upon by all and hand write and sign the petition. than make copies and send them to downtstate, president of LICH, elective officials and so on. We can meet up on the weekend and write the petition. What you guys think. We got to move fast.
@odessaboy; I don't plan on contacting anything as such until I am 100% sure that the school is closing. I will be writing letters / phone calls for now but nothing huge.
And considering the school knew that applications were frozen for 3 weeks and they didn't bother to tell us - we just got the typical "the applications are being processed please be patient," I'm pretty sure "embarrassing the school" isn't bad considering what they've done to us. And yes its not just LICHSON's fault, there's a lot of factors, but they should have given us some kind of notice. We only got an actual response when someone replied on their facebook.
Edit: Yes we have time but 10-11 weeks is a short amount of time to get petitions rolling, especially with the majority of the people here being busy with other things. If everyone starts sending letters to whoever and whenever, what says they'll be read right away or even considered until they get a certain amount of letters. There were a lot of applicants to LICHSON I'm sure, but how many people decided to go elsewhere and had a way out of this mess compared to who got completely screwed over. Not just that, they froze applications and will probably never release the accepted list they had if the school ends up closing.
I think that a letter, written in respectful manner will bring attention to "applicants problem" Last night I left a message on FB" Lich sucks" and today morning deleted...i realized they can see my name.. coward me ..not i regret that i deleted it.I was surprised to find the immediate response of the Dean If I need to I will sign my name under petition. win order to bring their attention and talk to us. First of all, we need more people to start with...
well, i recalled when i wrote a petition in my other school against a professor it was hand written and contained roughly about 20 or more signatures. The teacher wasnt fired obviously(10-year and all) but our grades were changed and everybody was happy. so a petition worked great. so lets now see how many people are willing to sign the petition. please everyone respond so i can keep count. Preferably write a numerical number next to your username. it would be easier to count. thanks
we do have a lot of evidence. first we got emails for interviews and we got the dean confirming the problem with merge and the freeze and she mentioned it has been on freeze for 3 weeks. so we got evidence. now we need voices. we got 2 so far. Obviously me and you so far. lets see if more people are willing to fight for their rights.

I totally agree. I will be writing my letter and having it sent out saturday morning, because I can afford to wait another year to get into a nursing program. I hope you guys will do the same. One voice is not enough.
