Im ok with your plan. You are the only one who had an experience where a petition work in your favor so you will be the best person. I gave the addresses of those involved inthe merger. Maybe we can also send a copy of the petition to the state department of education amd the dean of lichson. What do u guys think

does anyone have a "private forum" or "cloud" where we can communicate & post info in one easy place to find stuff. i'm having trouble keeping up w/the thread & really want to participate in petition & letter writing campaign.

maybe something like yahoo group or google group where docs can be uploaded? just a suggestion.

stina78, thank you for agreeing to sign our petition. I understand your concerns and you should do whatever feels right and follow your heart but at the same time many of us are extreamly upset over what happened and we will not take this laying on our backs and play dead either. Looking into history a lot of great leaders thought that they are helpless and one voice cant make a difference but they didnt give up. They kept pressing forward, making their voice heard. Screaming that they will not go down into the night! they will survive! fight for their rights as human beings. THIS IS AMERICA!! Created by the people for the people. WE the People have a duty and an obligation to ourselves to stand up and be heard. Look at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., (Noble Peace Prize 1964), Rosa Parks( refused to go to the back of the bus) altered history as we know it, Susan B. Anthony ( stood up on behalf of all women to be heard and vote). So looking back in history ONE person CAN and WILL make a difference. AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW YOUR HEART, YOU CAN DO NO HARM!!!!!

Thank you for the posted information on the merge. I assure you I took a note of all the addressess that you put up on your forum and i assure you they will be hearing form us as well. Also dean of LICH is a small fish, i was thinking more like the president.

By the way, thank you for the recommending me for taking a lead on the petition. I do have POSITIVE experience with petitions and i will do my best not to lead down any one you. I will be a great leader and even a better follower since a good leader MUST know how to follow as well. Together there is no limit to what we cant achieve. Lets reach for the stars. This reminds me of a great quote. I dont remember it word for word. But it goes something like this. "An individual sets a limit to the world by the horizon of his sight". Together there is nothing we cant accomplish.

I have been extremely depressed these last few days, i cant believe this is happening!!!! LICHSON is unbelievable, they should have not accepted applications for this fall if all the kinks were not worked out with the merger. I will do anything to be part of what ever petition that you guys want to put together. i will even protest with picket signs and everything !!!! lol !!!(seriously) this is our future and time is something that you could never get back!!!! Today im going to Long Island University. They have an express decision day for the nursing program. it starts at 11. this is not the school wanted to go to but now what choice do i have ill go where ever they will take me and do what ever i can. :crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2::crying2:

If anyone is interested try Dorothea Hopfer in Mount Vernon, NY and Cochran school of nursing in Yonkers. Both schools are in Westchester county and may be a commute depending on where you live but they both offer spring admissions and the deadlines have not passed as of yet. Both schools have open houses on June 16 if you're interested. Best of luck!

Fara01, we all know how you feel. We are all upset how LICH mistreated us hence our united opposition. We are part of the resistance. I wish you lots of luck in in Long Island College but beware this school is expensive and the nursing program is very hard. I know couple of people that went there and they told me its insane. A lot of people flunk out because they were not able to handle it. but dont let that discourage you, people do finish the program and it looks great on resume. just be ready to handle it.

Hmmm can you give any more information regarding that program at LIU?

And yeah I think we've all been kind of down cause of this mess. Good luck at LIU, and its good to hear from you. (you did disappear from this post for a while)
