Libertarian Healthcare

I'm a libertarian nurse. Ask me anything.

Yeeeeah, I could have phrased that more effectively. I came back here to post this link though:

Florida senate candidate admits sacrificing goat, drinking its blood.

It came up on my Facebook feed, and I am presenting it without further comment.

The article is a hoot!

So, new question for the OP (if you're still even around, and hoping to answer questions, as you originally stated): Have you ever killed a goat and drank its blood while on a "vision quest" in the desert?

OMG! Mr Rogers is a goat killing, blood drinking libertarian?!?

Oh, now it all makes sense, there's no Wi-Fi in the Mojave Desert. OP will return once he gets his tummy full.

A right-leaning state with a large population of Medicare beneficiaries that elected a guy who ran a company that was convicted of 14 felony counts of defrauding Medicare and forced to pay a record-setting fine could do anything.

Sacrificing a goat isn't even that weird for Florida. He didn't eat a man's face or anything. But it might still be a little much for an elected official.

All the best headlines start with "Florida man..." or "Florida woman..."

Well, yes, but "Florida senate candidate ..."?? That's bit much, even for Florida. (And ya gotta love his adopted name! And the fact that the article noted that's not his given name -- really? His parents didn't name him Augustus Sol Invictus??)

Love your picture and name. Ever notice the similariy between SSI/DMV workers and the Weeping Angels? They don't move when you watch them.

When I hear "libertarian healthcare" I am harkened back to the Republican debates when Ron Paul (the only Libertarian in the debate) was asked about a young man in a coma without insurance requiring life saving treatment. The Tea Party/Libertarians in the room voiced loudly that the fellow should just be allowed to die.

I don't believe there is a conspiracy, just ignorance.

The key part of that simplistic phrase being "...hurt anyone else."

The basic ideal for many libertarians is the Non or Zero Aggression Principle. Random violence is aggression, and should not be tolerated.

Science Says, your concerns about violence in media are unwarranted. Violence in the West, including the US has been on a downward cycle for a long time. If it, violence in media, truly was causing aggression then I'd go along with some kind of action.

It's tough. It's a compromise I make based on the fact that I live in a relatively liberal democracy. I do fear other nation states and believe we need a well equipped modern armed forces to defend us. However, I do not want politicians using that power willy-nilly, hence my preference for a limited government.

I'd also prefer that the liberal democracy I live in not become an authoritarian state.
