Libertarian Healthcare

I'm a libertarian nurse. Ask me anything.

Is it correct that the Libertarian view is that I can do whatever I want, and anything goes, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else?

Because if this is the libertarian view, then I believe it's a myth at best, and outright deception at worst. What we do in our own home does impact society, although you won't realise this straight away. We hear of random violence, another mass shooting, another random act of violence such as the game where men hit someone in the street at random, usually from behind, and post it on youtube, or an over the top road rage incident - we ask why is this?

By the time the average teenager is 16, they've seen approx 100,000 people die, in video games, in movies, and cartoons. And you don't think this affects anyone? Grand theft auto, the biggest selling game, has a scene where you can choose to save the woman, or rape her. They say it's R18, but you know kids much younger will play and watch it.

If you think this doesn't affect people, I ask you this. Does any of this shock you? It shocked me when some of the kid at school showed me, but it didn't shock them. They'd become immune to it, as if vaccinated. And we wonder why random, awful, brutal stuff goes on?

So maybe by watching or playing something in your own room isn't directly hurting anyone, but in the bigger picture, it is.

So... You are PRO vaccination?

Oops, a bit off topic, sorry. Ah, yeah, all for vaccinating children. But if we're talking about seasonal flu vaccines, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, although I didn't do the swine flu one. Some silly kids showed me a youtube clip of a woman who, after taking the swine flu vaccine, started walking backwards and talking funny. I eventually saw a documentary on this woman, and it turns out she's probably a head case, but the damned kids had to show me didn't they. The damned video went through the whole school, and as a result, half the kids refused, despite the parents insisting they have it.

Anarchism is a broad class of political thinking. Some libertarians are anarchists. All anarchists are not libertarians. There are left anarchists who don't believe in government, but also don't believe in the right to own property. Libertarian anarchists don't believe in government but hold sacred the right to own property. Voluntarists are one such group. I like a lot of what they say but find a lot of their views as Utopian.

Most anarchists tend to not like Libertarians that much, mainly because of that whole free market thing that puts capitalism over things like human rights and the environment. Instead they believe in those things you hate so much like organized labor, affordable healthcare and education and collectivism.

This whole working together, team player thing can really get a nurse down, you know?

I like Anarchy. I like The Sex Pistols. OP, do you like The Sex Pistols?

Is she the one who turned out to be pretending her medical illness for fame? I think I saw something on the news about that.. but I can't remember if it was after receiving a vaccination or something else.

Trying to figure out the quote feature?

I just got that!

This is a strange thread. Why would he start it like that then bail with so many "real" questions left floating?

And dammit, I want some answers!

I like sex and pistols. I didn't know they could be used together, did you go to Dogen's lecture?

How many bitmojis did far get this week??

ETA: Where is the libertarian national headquarters?

I get six every week. As you can see, that is seven too many.

Libertarian is everywhere, within us. No headquarters needed.
