hi everyone! i'm holli. i took boards on june 13th and passed with 75 questions. i am starting work on july 18th at the only hospital i ever wanted to work for. it is a great pediatric facility! i will be on the (post-op) surgical floor, and we also have all of the endocrine kids. also, they just added an epilepsy monitoring unit, for overnight monitoring and for the brain mapping they are doing. i expressed an interest in that, so they will cross-train me in that unit as well. i can't wait to get started!
so, tell me about you...
holli, rn
Heyhey, all y'all .... Bobylon, here At the ripe old age of 50 (after 2 layoffs in one year from previous profession) I took advantage of an incredible opportunity last year to attend a LPN program offered through our local hospital - great program, paid for by the hospital (they like to "homegrow" their own nurses.....although, since turnover is low due to the bad economy these days, it sounds like most new students must pay their own way now with no guarantee of a job offer ), with a job offer upon licensure. Well, our graduation was 3/27, I tested on 4/15, had results by 4/17, and license was posted 4/18 ...... my orientation started 4/20, and I orient on my floor starting 4/23 . It's been a thrill ride, and I look forward to every day. Life is GREAT !!!
You're never too "old" unless you think you are !!!
I am a new RN, looking for a job as I type! I am married to my high school sweetheart for aolmost 14 years, and the mom of 4 little ones- 3 girls- ages 4, 9, and 12, as well as one little boy- 7. I graduated my ADN program in Michigan May 09- Magna Cum Laude, and have been accepted into the RN/BSN program at U of Michigan, which I start in the Fall. I would eventually like to work in Nursing education, more like Patient education. I really love working with all clients, and I don't know what I want to specialize in yet. I think I need more med/surg first. I have no job experience.
Hi, I'm in Louisiana. Graduated in May 2008(RN BSN). Had a little boy in April 2008. First job in Telemetry:crying2: August 2008. Pure torture, but a great learning experience. Stayed on Telemetry floor 10 month before being offered a position as a psych nurse in a state hospital.:yelclap: I've been working there for 1 month now and i love it. :loveya: I eventually plan to become a psych np/cns after some years of experience.
Hi! I just graduated (May 2009) and passed my NCLEX last Tuesday:clpty: I start my new job at the end of August as a New Grad RN in a large level 3 NICU. I have a 6mo orientation but am still super nervous to start. I've started getting books on neonatal nursing to get a head start. I am really excited though!

Hey there my name is Samantha (Sam) & I took my boards on July 9th & found out July 13 that I passed my NCLEX. I unfourtunatly got all 265 Q's!!! I really wasn't sure if I passed or not but was so excited to find out that I did!!! I am currently applying for jobs & can't wait to get to work. I really want to work in Ped's, it was my best rotation & really enjoyed myself there. So say a prayer for me & hopefully I will be able to get on @ the local Children's Hospital!
Hey y'all...I'm Amy, in North Florida - might as well be South Georgia. I've been at this a long time - started in dialysis in 1994, and have done ER, case management, ICU. Last year, I took leave of every bit of good sense I ever had and started an anesthesia program, of which I FINISHED THE FIRST YEAR TODAY!!!!
Even if I go no further, I'll have a master's in health science, so that's some comfort. LOL!
I've taught, precepted, and have a vast library, so anybody have questions, holler. I won't do it for you, but I will help you figure out how to get there.
Hi I'm Rebecca, still waiting to take my NCLEX after a rescheduling debacle that made me a no show and invalidated my ATT (ridiculous I know!). Somehow my online rescheduling did not go through online and I didn't know that I didnt get an appointment confirmation email for the new date (yes I feel like an idiot). Congrats to all that have passed!!! And thsoe with jobs!!!! I am dying to take it, but need a new ATT
I hope that stuff works out soon as my job starts in a week and I don't know it they can hold it for me if I don't get a new ATT and test date in time
