I believe that since the Biden inauguration, much of the world is breathing a small sigh of relief. I know I am. Yes, there are STILL the dissenters and non-believers and rebels, but for the most part, I think we are safer and headed for better times.
Was watching Dr Fauci on a TV news clip this morning. The man looks 10 years younger!! Like the wt of the nation and world has been shifted off his shoulders.
I can barely imagine the overwhelming psychological and emotional distress that man must have endured since the beginning of this pandemic and the disconnect with DJT. DJT. Such a professional and personal conflict. Yet he always remained the expert professional he is.
In past history, he'd have been beheaded by King Henry VIII or executed by Hitler for his dire cautionary warnings that were so contrary to DJT's.
JMHO, but the man deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for Health and this nation's highest civilian medals, the Presidential Medal of Freedom or Congressional Gold Medal.
JMHO
Karliotta:
You are posting in the BREAK ROOM Politics forum where members debate and discuss politics effects on healthcare issues. Totally appropriate, especially for those nursing advocates who interact with their politicians on how laws affect nursing practice, patients, own families and their personal life.

I couldn't have said it better myself! Thank you.
If my assessment of you is negative based on initially, conversation, content and dissemination re your body language when having that conversation, vocabulary and context and then subsequent behaviors, then I will not listen to anything you say no matter how pertinent it is.
The GOP has proven repeatedly that they are not serious about the people and abiding by the will of the people who elected them. I mentioned coal in an earlier post. Just look at what their elected officials have done to Appalachia and the surrounding areas. Slurry pits, contaminated water, decimation of the environment, cancer and poverty. The coal companies are never prosecuted. They file bankruptcy, move and rename themselves and begin again.
Louisiana, petro chemicals. The largest concentration in the world and the people suffer the same indignities.
Which is the party that holds large corporations accountable? Which party looks out for the environmental impact? Which party wants to make the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes?
Republicans are sell outs and pander to the large corporations which is why people like the Koch brothers, Adelson, etc have them in their pockets.
A govt for the people by the people! Not for the corporations!

How would you frame the discussion? You are obviously upset so how would you like the discussion to ensue? Any specific ideas or suggestions?

But Karlotta, this is the political part of the forum. That's why everyone is discussing politics.
What do you think we should be discussing?
Nursing practice but that is 1 person’s opinion. Not saying either way is perfect. Just saying that the politicians have had enough influence on nursing As at least 99 percent of them wouldn’t and couldn’t save a slugs life.
Stop career politicians and the US will be much better.
Just my humble old man opinion

Please tell me why I should be talked to in political terms. None of you know me. The words used on both sides of the aisle are eerily similar to a veteran and a 58 year old white male. White privileged is not a thing. We are healthcare workers. I am an experienced RN. Keep your opinions of politics and religion off of healthcare forums please. Most commenters have a bias. At least 75 percent of the US population doesn’t agree. Not that some people care. Run your mouth with no solutions. Please use your brain. Who in the world gets to decide what race they are. If you form no solutions when you think of complaining why don’t you be a healthcare worker and listen instead of judging, lecturing and acting like you know me just because you look at me. Please do better with your education or lack there of.
