My hubby and I were both in our state's (Louisiana) RNP. First offense for both of us - and hopefully only one for us. We both had gotten the 2 year contract.
Generally as a rule (unless a nurse has BIG time criminal charges against them) the offense is 2 years. Second offense is either 3 or 5 years.
The longest contract I can remember was a 10 year contract - he was 2 years into his contract when I started my 2 years. I talked to him not too long ago at a meeting and he said his contract kept getting extended and after starting on 1997 he never was able to keep a good grip on his recovery. He used to be a CRNA and I think he started working as a CNA.

Florida every one usually gets 5 years. Some guidelines to follow is you have to work so many months and have negative/normal urines for 6 straight months. No dilute and or abnormal(low creatinine) urines.
Some nurses receive 2 years for certain problems. If any problems gets extended to 5 years. You have to work as an RN for a minimum time or contract gets extended.
California diversion program is for nurses already licensed is is 3-4 years.
It's only for nurses with current CA license.
The other program is Probation. This program is 3 years.
If you move to California and have either any psych/DUI/criminal offense and or admit to being in a program in another state, they place you into Probation. This shows as a mark on your record

in Texas- the TPAPN program used to be 2 years- just recently got changed to 3 years. 5 years seems much longer, obviously- but "they" believe that longer monitored sobreity leads to a better chance of continued, long-term sobriety after monitoring.
