Hi , does anyone have an information about the Accelerated Nursing program .

I applied and haven't heard from them .

Are they still accepting students or I should move on with my life.

kindly respond please .

Hello Gold!

I am in a similar situation myself. I applied for the generic program and still haven’t received a decision letter from the nursing department. I would suggest that you send out an email to the department and their advisors to inquire about your status, because some applicants (who had not received a letter) emailed them and received a response back, saying that they have been admitted into the program. Maybe the department has admitted you, only that they forgot to send you an email.

Hope my advice helps, and hopefully you’ve been accepted.

OK I will.

thanks alot

You’re welcome.

Let me know how if you hear anything.

I’m praying that you make it.

Did anyone retake the dosage calculations test again? How were the question same or different? Recommend any study material? I got an 85. I was sure I got over a 90 ?

Hey,

Don't give up hope. You still have one more try. I used the packet from bb and watched the module. I used this website and watch the video https://www.registerednursern.com/nursing-student-quizzes-tests/

If you were going to the review sessions, use all the materials given to you from those sessions. Learn the conversions. Remember to round when told to (if they don't tell you to round, don't round) and that gtts are always whole numbers.

Practice, practice, and practice! If you need anything let me know

Looking for any accelerated nursing members on this thread there is an upcoming meeting scheduled please PM me so I may send you the details.

Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing good. Does anyone have any other nursing programs or suggestions?

Hi everyone, I'm new to here and trying to catch up what have been discussed.

First, CONGRATS to those who received their acceptance letter. Those who are still waiting, don't give up because I was almost giving up but eventually I got my acceptance letter on 7/9.

I'm a second degree student but I applied to the generic program because I was worried the chance getting into accelerated program. I don't know how to find out my cumulative GPA since I took classes from multiple schools and I got a Bachelor's degree plus an Associate's degree for taking all the prerequisites. My science GPA is around 3.6, HESI 82%, CT 830 as I remember.

However, I'm actually thinking about going to private schools since I've seen a lot of bad reviews of the nursing program through Allnurses and I met someone who was in the Lehman Nursing Program at the campus before COVID. He told me the program it's very disorganized and it's basically you have to depend on you own and do self-study a lot. He told me not coming to Lehman if I have other choice. What he said was scared me and I would love to know if it's true and hear more opinions about the program.

Could any graduated students or current students tell me more about the program? How do you feel about it? How are the professors? Are they good or do they want to help you to succeed? Does the program have good connections with well-known hospitals that they can place you in for clinicals? Does the program help you find a job after graduation or is it not a problem getting a job after graduating from Lehman Nursing?

@Buckhill @Amberrae @ILoveGreen @Up4a2ndDegree Sorry for @ you guys here, I've seen you are active and kind on this forum. Since you guys are current students or graduated students, I think you would have a better insight of the nursing program. Please share your thoughts or if you prefer to talk privately, since it might mention names etc, please PM me. I'll be highly appreciate you!

Btw, I'm accepted to Wagner College for their Accelerated Program and also Long Island University. I'm currently thinking about Wagner College at Staten Island because I've talked to some of their nursing students. All they said to me about their nursing program are only good things but the Tuition is really expensive since it's a private school (If anyone of you heard of the program at Wagner College, please share your thoughts with me as well.)

So, if Lehman it's still doable, I might still go with Lehman because it saves a lot of money. I know nursing programs are hard but I have to admit they are all doable because people do survive from it. Although some of the programs, people would be extremely stressed and struggling. My concern is that would l be stressed and overwhelmed a lot by some "extra" things from the program that are not supposed to occur to distract my nursing study?

Thank you for reading my long post!!

Hey! I was wondering if you ended up pulling through with Lehman? I have some of your same concerns. Did anyone get back to you about how the nursing program is at Lehman? Also do you have any colleges that you suggest ? thank you !

I rather pay more money to a school that’s willing to help their students learn.

Can I ask what other schools you applied to?

My reply is really late. But I hope you were able to make a decision. I'll link an earlier post on my thoughts about Lehman. Other students may find it helpful.

Looking back at it, I really wish I would've gone to another school. I think the only reason why I decided to stay at Lehman was that I was already a student there and really didn't want to take extra pre-requisites to get into another school. Secondly, it's cheap. I graduated without debt. If I had another choice, I would've probably transferred to a SUNY or gone to a private school. They usually have a lot more learning opportunities and an overall better learning experience. You really do get what you pay for at Lehman. I and many of my classmates feel really unprepared to become nurses. You will be teaching yourself for many of these classes and I'm sure it's going to be a lot harder now that things aren't face-to-face. Nursing pay is decent. You will be able to pay off your loans. However, I hear that Lehman has added an assessment class? Good on them. We didn't have that and I really wish we did.

But there's a catch. I'm not sure how schools will be handling the pandemic. I really wouldn't want to pay 25K+ a year just for online classes. But maybe private schools and SUNYs have more access to online learning resources (I.e. realistic virtual Sim Labs)? I'm sure they have a lot more to offer than what Lehman gave us (as mentioned in the linked post.. we had case studies, presentations, and made wellness calls for our clinical rotations. We actually only had one virtual simulation and we didn't do much. We clicked an option (similar to a multiple-choice test) and hoped for the best). Your best bet would be to speak to students from your prospective schools. They can tell you what really goes on.

Hi everyone.

I read all the posts, congratulations the ones who just got into the program.

I am already a Lehman student, but just this Fall I changed my major and decided to go into Nursing. Now taking A and P1, so far its an A. Will apply for program 2022, so already picking up all the pieces of information on time. Got the HESI Study book as well. I see it is very competitive to get into the program but didn't know the overall GPA doesn't count as much as PreReqs GPA, I will go the best grades overall.

:)
