Hi everyone.

I read all the posts, congratulations the ones who just got into the program.

I am already a Lehman student, but just this Fall I changed my major and decided to go into Nursing. Now taking A and P1, so far its an A. Will apply for program 2022, so already picking up all the pieces of information on time. Got the HESI Study book as well. I see it is very competitive to get into the program but didn't know the overall GPA doesn't count as much as PreReqs GPA, I will go the best grades overall.

Hi Milos, Keep up the good work! Score an A in every course and pass the HESI because that is what the nursing department wants. In addition, take your pre-requisites, especially A&P very seriously, so that when you take the HESI, all you have to do are review questions, rather than pulling out your A&P textbook, trying to relearn everything. Also, the nursing program is A&P applied, so if you know how the body works, you will be in good shape for the nursing program and the nursing profession. I wish you all the best.

Hello. I'm sorry for posting on this almost a year later! I was wondering if anyone in the program can let me know if lehman offers any clinical sites in Manhattan. Or which areas are they offered in in the Bronx? I am just wondering as I'm taking into consideration the commute before I apply to any programs! Thank you, it would mean a lot if anyone can help!

Hi, they only have one location in manhattan- St Lukes. Every other sites are in the bronx; St. Barnabas, Bronxcare, VA hospital, Monterfiore, etc . You don't get a choice on the location, sorry. Some of it is a travel but its worth the experience.

Hi,

Congrats to everyone that got accepted this year!

I have a question about the class schedule. Is it Monday-Friday? If so what time? I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to work my job schedule around my class times. Also, what are the clinical schedules like?

Also, those who did well on the HESI, what did you use to prepare and how much time in advance did you start studying?

Hey BKnursing, unfortunately you really don't know what your schedule will be like until about two (maybe three if lucky) weeks before you start your semester. I tried to weave in some work during the week but I consistently fell behind with my coursework and finally ended up only working every Saturday.  This was a HUGE financial blow, but I felt it was necessary to stay afloat in this rigorous program.  A classmate of mine who chose to work one/two days during the work week sadly failed one of the courses and had to wait another school year to take the course over again.  Schedules vary, but I'll say for me I generally had class on Monday, Tuesday clinical (all day), Wednesday afternoon class, Thursday class and Friday-Sunday off (Studying big time).  The clinicals are scheduled from 7am-7pm, but honesty most clinical professors will let you go around 4-5pm.

Wish you the best, if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hey guys,

anyone currently preparing for HESI A2 for Accelerated BSN Fall 2021 ? Need some help regarding the proper study books and where do I get access to enough practice sets for exam? I'm nervous about critical thinking and learning styles. Don't have enough ideas about how to prepare for it?

will appreciate your guidance.

Hi Everyone,

I have a question for the students that are currently in the Nursing program. Are you going to clinical this semester? Were you able to go to clinical since the pandemic started? I'm asking because I'm in the ADN program at BMCC and our clinical is all virtual at the moment. This is very concerning to me and was wondering if this is the experience for other CUNY schools as well.

Thank you, any response is appreciated ?

Hey we have been able to attend clinical since the pandemic.

Hello everyone! Im apart of the 2021 ABSN class and we started this June. Our NUR 301 and NUR 344 HESI is coming up soon.

Can anyone who has taken it provide what study materials they used to take the exam?

 Thank you!

Also, if you can purchase UWorld now and practice along the way it'll be beneficial. May cost a little more but you can really pace yourself and take your time as you go thru the systems with med/surg. It'll really pay off at the end.

Saunders is also very helpful for HESI!
