Legacy RN Versant Residency 2015 Winter

Published

Legacy RN Versant Nurse Residency Program, start date February 23, 2015. I just wanted to post this thread, so that those of us who applied for this cohort can communicate about the application process. Did you apply? If so, which unit and location? Have you heard anything yet? Any idea how many applicants applied this time? I hope everyone gets their unit of choice. This is a very tough program, but seems worth the effort. I want to wish everyone the best of luck!

Congratulations! Good luck on the interviews

When is your interview?

Has anyone gotten calls yesterday or today? I am wondering if they are done with calls? Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone happen to know if our "application under review" status has any meaning to it? Does this mean we are being considered for second interviews? And can we expect it to change if we are moved along in the process or "let go"? Thanks! :bored:

I haven't heard anything either. I think the status "Application under review" just means that they have looked over your application. After they have extended all their job offers, your status will change to "Sorry you were not chosen" or something along that line. Maybe those who have completed their second interviews could shed some light on whether they're done calling potential second interviewees?

Hey there. They're doing second interviews through the month. Don't lose hope yet guys. The "under review" is a good sign. Means you haven't been cut from the race yet. Keep hope!

Thank you, Valhalla050! xx!

Thanks everyone. Salem health hospital emailed me today saying I was not chosen for a second interview there. I feel defeated. I am beyond nervous about not getting a call from Legacy. Does anyone know if ICU calls were made??

I just want everyone to realize that this residency isn't the end of the world. Would it be fantastic, utterly amazing, and fabulous? Of course! However, in the few months since I was turned down last July, I've realized that it'll be okay if it doesn't happen. The first round I thought I would just about die if I didn't get it, because as a new grad I couldn't find work. It was horrible trying to get anyone to even interview me. However, I have found a LOT of experience, and gained a LOT of wisdom in LTC. it was the only work I could find, and I know I could do better...eventually, but for now I am learning a lot. I just want to put some positive out there for those of you that are facing LTC if this doesn't work out. There can be a silver lining in the rain cloud. Just understand that it's temporary to get the darn experience that we all need, and that we will all have our chance to specialize at some point in our careers. Don't get me wrong...how good your experience is in LTC is totally site specific, and some are horrible while others are wonderful, but you can make it a good experience if you learn from it. Keep hope, because it's truly not the end of the world. :)

Did anyone get an email asking for references?

Thanks Vallhalla050! With no call, I have accepted I will not be asked to interview. I do have a job with long care disabled individuals...that will have to do until a hospital will interview me. Good chatting with everyone and hope many of you join the program!!

I have heard of some people being asked for references via email. Sadly I have not received this request and have a feeling that is a bad sign. Wishing you the best!
