Legacy RN Versant Residency 2015 Winter

U.S.A. Oregon

Published

Legacy RN Versant Nurse Residency Program, start date February 23, 2015. I just wanted to post this thread, so that those of us who applied for this cohort can communicate about the application process. Did you apply? If so, which unit and location? Have you heard anything yet? Any idea how many applicants applied this time? I hope everyone gets their unit of choice. This is a very tough program, but seems worth the effort. I want to wish everyone the best of luck!

Wow, well that's great for her! I have applied to so many internships/residencies throughout the Northwest and haven't gotten really anywhere with them! So I believe it's true that you just never know! I have had the opportunity to interview for a few ICU internships here in Texas (graduating from UT Arlington tomorrow!) so if it doesn't work out with Legacy I will have to stick it out here and get my one+ year of experience and then try to find a job in Oregon I guess.

Brighteyes is completely right. Experience truly doesn't weigh very much. Also, a perfect GPA shows lack of being able to handle "failure" and how to adapt well in my opinion. Last spring I made it to the second round, my gpa at the time (from my ADN) was only 3.6 or something like that. This time my BSN gpa is 3.9. I truly don't think it'll matter though. What I think truly counts, is how well you interview. Do you get along with the managers? Are you personable? Do you have the right answers? What experiences have you had (clinical or work)? These are the things that I feel impacted heavily last round. However, I did hear last time that a lot of people had different experiences depending on the unit they were applying with.

Well I guess we will see then... I just hope I get the opportunity to do a second interview (as I know we all do!)

Has anyone heard back for a second interview? I received a email that calls are well underway.... The anticipation is killing me!

I'm in the same boat. I wondered if anyone in here has got a call back for a second interview or know of anyone who has? It's hard not to be discouraged with each day gone by. Good luck everyone!

I just got a call today! I was seriously getting worried. It's for a different location than the one I requested though.

Which department did you get a call for? I am curious to know if the oncology units have already made calls

Great! Which department called you? They called you on the weekend?

Yay! Congrats! Ahhhh now are all getting nervous about not getting a call yet.

Hi everyone!

I received a call on Thursday morning, the 11th to schedule a second interview. I applied for med/surg because I had my practicum in med/surg. I interview this coming Tuesday for approximately one hour. I have my BSN and minimal experience, although I'm nervous my GPA could hold me back? Good luck to everyone =)

I got the call for Women's health. It was late Friday afternoon.

Thanks for all the congrats btw. I like that we all support each other on here!
