Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

Well i'm finally done with Nursing School!!! Praying for you ladies to get in. I also saw somewhere that UAB took their current students as priority.

Thanks ladies! Its kind of still surreal. I keep feeling like I need to be studying for a test LOL. I got a job already lined up for June. Now just have to get boards scheduled. If you ladies have any questions or need any help..I'm here :)

Hi ladies! I'm following this thread now. I'm applying to Lawson and already applied to Jeff State. Do you guys know what a good point score is at Lawson?

Hello kchampion, I was wondering the same thing. With this new application process it is hard to tell. I have been calling the nursing department to see if they are having any nursing forums right now but I can't get anyone to answer the phone . I can't find any information on their website either.

Hello Kchampiom, I finally got a hold of someone at the Birmingham campus. She said they did not offer any Nursing Forums this time. Have you turned in your application yet?

I looked for it, but can't find any information on it. If i don't get accepted to UAB SON, I am going to do the RN to BSN program uab offers since I have already completed my uab courses and then the BSN to MSN. UAB offers great programs for RN's!

Hello!!!

I've been wanting someone to start a thread for 2017 Hopefuls, and keep it active for a while!!!

You ladies rock! You all have done such an amazing job with the information that you have been able to bless everyone with.

I am a Fall 2017 Hopeful. I have applied to both the day and night program at Lawson State and I am currently taking the HPS class which I LOVE!

It makes me feel like I'm really close. I mean talking and thinking like a nurse......aaahhhhhhhhhh (we need emoji's on this website).

My question is if the deadline for the application was June 1st, about long does it take you to get an acceptance or letter of declination?

Otherwise, I will probably drive my mailman courier bananas...lol

Just to give a little info about myself. I completed my Pre-reqs at just about every school in Birmingham. I've been to Jeff State, Faulkner, UAB and Lawson. I have to admit, Lawson and Faulkner are in a tight competition for my favorite. I was really blessed with great instructors at both institutions. I am sooo ready for this. It's been a while since I've been this close.
