Lawson State fall 2017

Hello everyone I would like to congratulate everyone who made it into this falls (2016) cohort. I will be applying to Lawsons fall 2017 cohort. I am creating this forum for those who are currently in the program that would like to encourage the next class and also let us know what to expect and for those applying to the 2017 cohort. Lets also post scores as we complete classes and take the ACT. So far I have taken bio 103, micro, eng, a&p 1, psych 1& 2, humanity, and will be taking a&p 2 and math 100 this miniterm and will be taking hps 103 and mth 186 in January. Oh and also remember no question is a dumb question unless you dont ask it!!!

Well I'm glad you're still striving towards goal! That's all that matters. I had a couple of hiccups along this journey as well, but I just dusted myself off and got back on the grind. I see why they say to always have a plan A, B C, and D. LOL! Well many blessings to you and keep in touch!

Thanks and many blessing to you.Yes I'm still having faith to get there. Keep going even when there isn't any hope. Yes having plans will help you get there. Just take one step at a time.

Hi! I have a question for you blsednurse2b78!

I am in my first semester here at Lawson (I am a previous ITT student������) so far I have all A's in all my classes and I am registering for A&P 1, Math 100, HPS 103 and PSY 200 this summer! Do you think that work load is too heavy? At the rate I am going, I will be finished with all my prerequisites by the end of Fall 17 semester. So I plan on applying for the Fall 18 nursing program on the Bessemer campus

AP 1 and AP2 is a lot of work but if you have the time and know what you can handle then you probably do good. I know couldn't do anything but focus on my Biology class because I was aiming for a good grade.

I think you may want to just take psychology and hps 103 this summer and A&P 1 and math 100 in the fall.

I wouldn't take so much this summer. Summer is intensive because it is alot of information in a short time. If you are applying in Fall 18 then you have time to take the classes. Take your AP1 and another class this summer. AP1 is really just memorization and recall. AP2 and Micro is where the tide kind of turns lol. May I ask why are you taking so many classes this summer if you plan to apply in Fall 18?

I read somewhere on the website that students that are students at UAB and apply to the nursing program has first priority to the nursing program. I cant remember what was needed to quailfy. I know I want to get my BSN in nursing once I finish through nursing school. Wishing you luck

Well i'm finally done with Nursing School!!! Praying for you ladies to get in. I also saw somewhere that UAB took their current students as priority.

OMG!! Congratulations!!!!!! How do you feel now that you have accomplished your goal? I'm so happy for you!! I pray in Jesus name that I get accepted into the evening program at Lawson. Do you have any study tips for us who will still need to work?
