Hello everyone, I am applying to 4 different programs in Fall 2019. Does anyone here in the same boat with me? Lets get to know each other and share your experience. Good luck to all of you.

I applied to Pierce and plan on applying to LAVC for my lottery schools. I also applied to College of the Canyons and am considering Rio Hondo.

Good luck!

Yes, definitely. Keep in touch.

I also applied to Pierce and will be applying to Valley/City once the application period opens.

A friend of mine (also a Pierce applicant) received an email today regarding the TEAS exam dates at Pierce, but it did not appear to be a formal invitation as it stated eligibility is still being reviewed.

I did not receive this email myself.

Best of luck to all!

I also received that email. It went to my LACCD account even though I put my personal email on the application, so make sure you check that one.

It basically says that they will have paper and pencil TEAS testing on March 25 and April 8, and if you already took the TEAS, to send the scores by April 8 at the latest.

One they finish evaluations and if you are eligible, they will send out emails with information on how to sign up for the TEAS at Pierce.

Has anyone gotten any updates as far as the Formal "Invitation to Take TEAS Exam" or any other correspondence?

The test dates were as follows: March 25th & April 8th.

This is right around the corner, I wonder when they will send an update....

For those of you who are applying to the LAVC Nursing program for Fall 2019, make sure you schedule the 1 Hour "Transcript Evaluation" appointment with the counseling office. They only make appointments every Tuesday morning 8am and the appointment is for the FOLLOWING week only. Make sure you do this ahead of time to avoid issues later. Make sure all official transcripts are sent to LAVC admissions and records, not the Nursing Department like Pierce College requires for example. They will give you an Evaluation form that you will turn in with your nursing application. Applications will be available to pick up and complete beginning April 8th.

For those of you who have taken the TEAS, how did you do? What % did you score? How much time did you use to prep/study before taking it? Any tips/advice you recommend?

Thank you!!

Good point about making the appointment, @Vika22!

Make sure you mention that it’s to have the pre-reqs cleared for the nursing application. I called on Tuesday around 9am, and it sounded like they were able to squeeze me in just beacuse it was for clearing pre-reqs. Those counseling appointments go FAST.

Hi dear,

I already had my TEAS. My score is not good enough, just 74%, but I did for the first time. I did not spend too much time on it. I reviewed 2 weeks ago I took the exam. For me, the math and science were not hard, but the science portion was very detail. The reading was very tough. sO, BE PREPARED. Good luck to you. Also, yes, I already made appointment with counselor and had the form with the signature of counselor from LAVC. I will be applying to LAVC too. The process takes time, so please do it as soon as you can, guys. Finger crossed everyone
