Langara BSN Fall 2015

Published

Hi everyone! Applications are now closed and acceptances should be sent out later this month. I'd love to hear from anyone who receives their acceptance as well as students currently in the program offering any advice, or anyone (im)patiently waiting like myself!

llsgll - with your BA, have you also applied to other accelerated programs or is Langara your first choice?

Langara was my first choice. Its very close to where I live so it would be the most convenient for me. I don't like the accelerated programs because I think it would be too much for me. I like the pace of langaras program because it would allow me to understand and study the material better. That's important for me especially since there's an exam at the end.

UPDATE: so theyre still reviewing applications and still will send out acceptances. Apparently 80 students will be chosen. So even though some people have already been accepted theyre still in the process of sending more applications out

Thank you for the update. So only 80 studs will be chosen from 400 applicants? hoping for an update from langara at the end of this month.

Keeping my fingers crossed for all of you still waiting!

Thank you BBB!

I just got my acceptance email this afternoon! So excited!

Congratulations CarMcK! I saw from another topic that you were also interested in Kwantlen's program, are you accepting Langara's offer or waiting until you get a reply from KPU?

Langara gives you only two weeks to decide and I think I would only hear back from KPU or UBC at the end of March/ early April?

From everyone I've spoken to- Langara's a great program and with the 36 month format it seems like there would more time to work as an ESN, probably more chance to have a balanced life during the program and you finish with lots of hands on experience ...

I've accepted Langara's offer. I honestly don't know what to do if I happen to get accepted at KPU or UBC - or how that would even work-

Hi i got my acceptance today too im so excited!

@CarMcK: ESN is definitely something I'm looking forward too as well! When I was at the Canadian Blood Services, I spoke to a nurse who actually graduated from Langara years ago and she spoke fondly about her times as an ESN at BC Children's. Excited to see you in September!

@Avi: Yay! Congrats!

Hey guys, I'm just wondering does anyone know whether or not repeating a course affects the chances of getting in ? :/ ... I'm currently retaking bio 1190 atm and thinking of applying for the 2016 intake.

and congratz to everyone who got in and good luck to those are still waiting! (:

Yes if u get a higher mark second time around it was increase ur chance of getting in i did calclus twice and got a better mark or it replaced my old grade
