Langara BSN Fall 2015

Hi everyone! Applications are now closed and acceptances should be sent out later this month. I'd love to hear from anyone who receives their acceptance as well as students currently in the program offering any advice, or anyone (im)patiently waiting like myself!

hi i applied with a 3.5 gpa for my pre reqs. is there not 6 prereqs? so you add the gpas and divide by 6?

@lesfender- sounds like we've had the same struggle haha. I'm currently at Douglas finishing academic foundations this semester, even though I'm fairly sure patho and micro won't transfer to langara. I applied for winter 2016 as well for a backup. Douglas has been nothing but frustrating trying to get into programs and classes though...

@Penney Microbiology is transferable except Patho. I'm finishing up micro this semester and Patho in the summer. Yeah, it's a long and dreadful process. The clock is ticking away.

I'm at Langara and there was only 5 when I applied. Anatomy and Physiology I, Statistics, English and two university transferable electives. If you went to another school, you need to take both Anatomy and Physiology I and II at that institute but I'm not sure whether A&P II counts as an elective or they take it into consideration as an extra pre-requisite.

And yes, you add all the GPAs for each course and divide by the number of courses you took.

I emailed them when they will send again admission letters to applicants and the advisor said they will try emailing at the end of this week.. whats yout gpa? I have 3.3 gpa and i dont know if this is enough.

Yes I did check out kpu and ubc but their accelerated programs and a lot of online courses are required. I do not want to rush through the program. It will be tough enough just to get through 3 years so the accelerated program is far fetched for me personally. I was advised to take the 3 year program which will give more practice and better experience. Doing another year and half doesn't hurt and I've heard good things about langara.

Side note I got accepted into the RPN program in January at Douglas as well. I will be dropping out of BPN because BSN was my number 1 choice. Thank god I had complete all the first year classes required for the BPN program because I took them in my previous degree... So I did not have to spend money towards the BPN program.

However I did take Phil 3125 at Douglas towards my RPN program which transfers over as biomedical ethics in term six at langara. So one class less to do in that term. So anyone at Douglas who has taken that course it will transfer into the nursing term 6 at langara!!

I keep checking my email but havent heard from langara yet. How's your application, did you hear from then already? Please kindly update if there is any news.. =) i am really getting anxious . Lol

No i haven't iv been checking everyday. People have already been accepted so i really hoping that doesnt mean we didn't get in. What does it say on ur application status.? Mine still says "application is complete"

Same here, mine says "application is complete" as well. I also asked other classmates who also applied for fall, and we got the same application status as well..
