LA Pierce College Spring 2021

Hello! I applied for the Fall 2020 cycle at Pierce, unfortunatlly due to the coronavirus the TEAS test was cancelled. I just wanted for people going through the same thing and for new applicants to have a place for to discuss their application process. How's everyone’s doing?

I know that we have to have everything done by February 8th which is the first day of class! I think for right now I’m just going to make a dental appointment. Did anyone email the nursing department yet to ask if we need a form for the titers and physical exam?

Hey everyone,

So is anyone going to get started on their stuff yet? I’m just worried we’re gonna need a special form that the doctor needs to fill out. All I’ve done is I scheduled my dentist appointment for January 18th just in case we get a form on our orientation day January 15th. What’s everyone else doing? I don’t want to get behind.

I scheduled a dentist appt as well. I emailed them with questions days ago with no response yet. So far I’ve sent in my signed papers from the handbook. I noticed on the website that the health center offers free physical exams for nursing students at pierce and low cost vaccinations and titers so I asked if that’s still available during this time. Hopefully they respond soon because getting into a doctor right now isn’t super easy. Also asked about castlebranch because it seems we need a code.

Okay great. They will probably respond next week since it’s the holidays. Where did you send the signed papers too?

At the bottom of that document they sent us there’s two emails. I sent it to Concepcion Tiu. And the documents are on the handbook on the website. Last two pages. Just sign scan and send

Okay awesome thank you. I’m going to do that right now! Also I’m just curious, how many times did everyone apply to the nursing programs? This is my second round and I didn’t think I was going to get in anywhere since I got denied to all the other schools! I was shocked when I got this acceptance LOL

this was my 2nd time as well. I got into pierce & lacc this 2nd time around but picked pierce over the two! 

 

ps. I emailed them about castle branch code & forms for provider signatures & I got a reply that they will send more info within a week or so

Oh okay nice! I didn’t apply to lacc this time around. I heard Pierce is a great program and we get a clinical preceptorship at the end of the 4th semester which is so important in getting a job! Where are you guys thinking of doing your bachelors degrees? The cal state schools are a little pricey so I’m trying to find one that’s cheaper, but I’m not sure yet.

OK glad they will get to us soon. This was my second time around. I applied to 5 schools in January and 5 this time as well and only got into pierce. Was losing hope so I’m glad that I finally got in. I started on the nursing track a bit later. I’m 28 and graduated with my bachelors a few years ago so I was worried it would take a long time before I started my career.

Honestly I’m in the same boat as you. I’ll be 26 in 3 weeks and it’s taken me such a long time to get to where I am today! But we got here and that’s all that matters haha are you going to get your bachelors degree in nursing? That’s what I’m asking with what school you guys are going to get it at?
