LA County Spring 2016

Published

Anyone out there apply for Spring 2016? I just received the paperwork for the TEAS and questionnaire. I know we are months away from finding out if we get in, but maybe we can share information here!

I got in!!!! See you all at pre-reg!!

Thank you Lotus10,

I'm not sure which school I would attend if I were to get into riohondo. Maybe I won't get into rio, that'll make life easier lol. I did get into Elac's nursing program too but ya that was my back up plan hahah.

I have to crunch alot of numbers and see if any of the schools offer childcare for the students and for a discounted price. So ya... I have plenty of questions for the school. Enough about that, see you all on 11/20!

Congrats to Lt330 in getting in. Good feeling I know :)

Oh btw, just fyi I remembered from the info session that LAC Is not a state funded program, so if relying on calgrants or any grants funded by the state to pay for tuition ~ pretty much screwed, might have to pay out of pocket. A prospective student asked about the whole Fafsa thing and the counselor just emphasized on the loan deferment contract. Just a heads up. We'll get a better understanding during prereg. K ttyl

I'm also awaiting rio Hondos letter... I called this morning and was told letters were sent out yesterday

Oh ok cool thx for checking. I'll wait for it, if it comes it comes lol. Not going to stress over it. But if you get a letter let me know :)

I've decided, I pick county! :)

Hey guys so I finally got my hands on the letter from LA County (I wasn't home and my mom sent a picture of it to me). The letter says that a class schedule and booklist were included in what was mailed. Did anyone get that? I didn't get a booklist or class schedule.

the list wasn't attached, but it said they will for over what's current during p registration. I'm going to drop off the Lil blue card this afternoon, I'll ask about that list and let you all know. But I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Thanks phea. It's just curiosity. If the booklist was available I wanted to take a looksie at what I would be spending and of course the class schedule. Eeeee I'm so excited

I got into rios program as well. Check your mail! Now I need to decide which school to attend... Rio is right by my house and tuition is cheaper but county has always been my number 1 choice though I would have to sit in traffic ... Which I hate. Decisions decisions 😥

What do you mean it's not state funded???? Tax payer money is what keeps our school running!!! I get cal grant, pell grant, loans, and SEOG grants

LAC's website does link to cal grants which is state funded. Hopefully they can give more info at the pre-reg.

Hi righteousjenn and nataliekorn,

thanks for clarification about the grants, i was sharing what I heard during the info session. But all these questions I will ask again during prereg.

About the booklist and class schedule for spring 2016, Erica who sits at the front desk said it will be provided to us at prereg.
