What I remember from 5 years ago is that they don't really ask specifics about infection control but instead give you 4 patients and ask you to decide who to put in a private room..or who share a room. Maybe someone that has taken it recently can give you some more info. Even in the RN practice NCLEX exam it was deciding who goes in what room.

I took it in Aug. of 2008 and they asked me the sequence in which you took your PPE on and off.....and they also asked me how often you clean your stethoscope, duh between each patient LOL and what rooms were used for what disease! Hope this helps!
yes that helped..thanks alottt...!!!

It's also good to think about things like ....what type of patient(s) should a pregnant nurse not be assigned to care for.

They throw in little words to make you go huh???? Like disseminated.... They ask about shared equipment. Honestly, you need to truly understand the vocabulary and the patho behind each infection to be able to pick the right answer. I would start by memorizing the isolations that you've listed and then study the "why" by studying the patho/transmission of each. I think that would be the best use of your time considering how close you are to your test. You're guaranteed to get a knowledge question before it goes to analysis, judgement. Good luck!!!
thank you soo much ..yes i will try to understand the patho ..thanks so much for great advice..
