Kennesaw State Univeristy application for 2011

Published

Hello All!

I just applied for Kennesaw State University's traditional BSN program today. I'm writing to see if anyone else has recently applied (or plans on applying soon). It would be awesome to hear from people in the same boat....those who have applied and are anxiously awaiting KSU's response or those that have been through this already. It would be nice to know that I'm not alone! :)

To get an idea of how competitive things are, it would be great if we could share with each other the following:

GPA, Pre-Req GPA (7 out of the 12 corse classes, 5 of which need to be math or science) & TEAS Score.

I don't know my overall GPA...something around a 3.4.

My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (4 B's, 3 A's).

I scored a 86 on my TEAS.

I would love to hear from people that have recently been accepted (or know someone that has). If you don't mind sharing, please let me know what you received for your GPA, pre-req GPA & Teas score.

I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of the time-line for KSU sending out the interview invite letters.

Thanks!! :nurse:

Hey everyone! I'm in too! Congrats guys...can't wait to meet you all this summer. :)

It looks like everyone who was active in this thread and had an application in for summer got accepted. Very nice. Let's keep the updates going as we move through the final phases of the application and orientation.

Very exciting!!!! Definitely! Now it is getting all the other pieces together...from what I read some of the background check stuff is a little confusing. But I know we need a CPR class so I guess we can meet each there!

Again! Congrats everyone! Anyone old like me???

Hello all, and congratulations! I too got my letter yesterday and am looking forward to meeting everyone this summer for KSU's Nursing program. Hooray for us!!! Now to get through it.... :yeah:

Well, I'm 39...how old are you belle?

I've been trying to read other posts and get an idea about what we need before this summer. I work at Egleston and one of the nurses I work with said we should get a dosage calculation book and brush up on conversions and basic math. I think there is a general math test to start out with.

Sorry, but I won't see you all for CPR, since I work at the hospital, I already have my CPR as well as the immunizations...

Is anyone at KSU this semester? My classes are Mon/Wed...I'd love to meet for lunch or something to get to know one another ;)

oops, I forgot to add...the RN's I work with also said the get a Littman stethoscope...they are the best!

Hey leah! I'm 34 on Sunday! I'm staying 32 for awhile I think...lol!! I heard the dosage book as well...do you know which one in particular? I have a friend that just started this past semester in the traditional so I'll pick her brain and post for everyone to see...I think I'm caught up on immunization since I have been shadowing at Northside but we'll see. I am going to drop off the contract tomorrow to Fran and ask a list of questions...can't wait to meet everyone! Oh my name is Heather....

Nice to meet you Heather!!

You are not old....silly! If you're old, I'm ancient lol!

Do you (or anyone else) have children? I have three children. I have 2 teenaged daughters and a son, who is 7 years old.

They didnt mention a specific book, if you find out, let me know. I have a friend that started this semester too. She says she is drowning in all the work. I'm supposed to meet with her after spring break. She said she had a lot of tips she could me. She's already sent me some patho notes. I'll be happy to share once I get all the info.

yikes, sorry for this spelling above, I'm trying to test my son on his spelling words for the week and type this at the same time...I'm going to have to work on my multi-tasking skills, lol!

This is so exciting!

I was a little excited about a year ago and bought a Littman stethoscope from Redding Medical online. I highly recommend them.

Also, I am not the youngest either, (30) and have one little one (5yrs)

I am on campus Monday-Thursday so I am open to lunch any afternoon!

I can't wait to get this started. I need CPR too... I suppose we will be getting more information on requirements and health/background checks, etc when they email us? Fran was not in her office today, but I will be asking a bunch of questions when I turn in my contract.

see you all soon! and see you kbhowland on Thursday ;)

You are not ancient!! No kids yet...need a husband for that! lol! Haven't had time for any of that.

I heard from a friend that she really used her micro book for Patho as well. I did hear that the Littman is the best. I am considering getting my name put on it as well. I also heard that if you really have the dosage and math calculations down, it will really help since we have to cram 16 weeks of work into 9 weeks! Yikes!

I hope we get the dates for everything pretty quickly since I am trying to plan a trip to Europe before school starts...my last hoorah!

Does anyone by chance have breakdown of what all of this is going to cost? I looked online and saw tuition/fees but not sure how accurate it is for summer semester and the book costs. I have to get started on applying for scholarships. I am not taking out loans...I refuse to!

KSUhopeful!

I know your sister in law very very well!!! We grew up together and were sorority sisters!!! We'll have to meet at Renee's!!!! What a small world!!!!
