I just applied for Kennesaw State University's traditional BSN program today. I'm writing to see if anyone else has recently applied (or plans on applying soon). It would be awesome to hear from people in the same boat....those who have applied and are anxiously awaiting KSU's response or those that have been through this already. It would be nice to know that I'm not alone! :)
To get an idea of how competitive things are, it would be great if we could share with each other the following:
GPA, Pre-Req GPA (7 out of the 12 corse classes, 5 of which need to be math or science) & TEAS Score.
I don't know my overall GPA...something around a 3.4.
My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (4 B's, 3 A's).
I scored a 86 on my TEAS.
I would love to hear from people that have recently been accepted (or know someone that has). If you don't mind sharing, please let me know what you received for your GPA, pre-req GPA & Teas score.
I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of the time-line for KSU sending out the interview invite letters.
I took TEAS V...Fran said I had to do TEAS V..I made an 85.3 and it seems the mean score is 10 points lower than IV so I am hoping she takes that into account. With that score I was in the 96th percentile. I just don't know. My math/science GPA is 3.8 and my overall pre-req is a 3.7..I am worried about my overall GPA. I think it's over a 3.2 but not really sure what Kennesaw has pulled over from my undergrad GPA and my grades from my pre-reqs. I think my interview went decent...who knows about those things...I do know they were early getting me and thank goodness I was early for it! I went on Wednesday first thing to get it over with. How did ya'll feel in the interview?
I am extremely worried about my overall GPA. Not even sure about my interview. I tend to ramble and that worries me....
Just want to know the results! By the way, how have you all been looking for scholarships? And where have you looked?
Thanks for the updates. I'm pleased that they're meeting tomorrow to finalize this. Everyone participating in this thread seems to have given a good interview, so the admissions board is making their decision with a good impression still fresh on their minds. If anyone else has any news that's pertinent to the admissions process, then please post. Until then, lets all relax and hope that Monday's mail brings us the valentine we really want to get. :redbeathe
I just applied for fall of 2011 to both the accelerated program and the regular program and I'm just as nervous as all of you guys! Overall GPA is a 3.44, my best 7 of the pre-reqs is a 3.6, best 5 of my math and science courses is a 3.85 and my TEAS (version V) was a 93.3. Wondering how competitive that is though because I'm not sure how many people apply for fall...? Did anybody get at least to the interview round with similar grades? Anybody from previous years get accepted with similar grades? I just don't want to get my hopes up for nothing... Anyways, thanks in advance to anybody that replies and GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU ON GETTING IN FOR SUMMER!!!!!
I am wishing the best to everyone as well. I have been a lurker on the boards for a while and have been following this thread to see how time frames go, etc for the application. I just submitted my application for the traditional and accelerated program to begin in the fall.

UGABelle, Fastweb is pretty good for searching for scholarships. They will even match you up with ones that apply to your profile. Kennesaw State has some as well, and I have seen a few of those listed on Fastweb occasionally also.
Hey everyone! That's great information about the timeline. I was nervous for the first few days after the interview (over analyzing my answers) but I've pushed it out of my head for the last few days thinking I had weeks to wait. But now all I can think is...OMG, my future is going to be determined (well...at least the timeline of my future) in the next few days!!
BMD513, your scores sound great. You will definitely get an interview. My scores were a 3.6 for the 7 pre-req classes, a 3.4 or 3.5 overall, and I got a 92.4 on the TEAS (I misposted my score on an earlier post...don't ask...too much on my mind lol). There is no doubt that your scores are competitive enough for the interview and very competitive for entrance in to the program as well. So relax... (do as I say not as I do )
what classes did you take at Chatt tech? I took the rest of my pre-reqs there because of the Hope grant. I was at the Marietta campus and North metro for A&P. When did you finish your classes? My undergrad is from UGA so of course there are grades I wish were higher. I wasn't exactly taking school that seriously 15 years....I worked so hard to get into college that I just wanted to have my fun and socialize...that's what you get when you're 18 and on your own for the first time.
Well the committee should be meeting this afternoon and all I can think about is this. I really don't have a backup plan I like. Kennesaw is the only school I want to go to...talk about putting your eggs all in one basket!

Anyone by chance get an email today? Nothing on my end...I wonder if the letters even made it out today since there was snow yesterday morning. Not sure that would have had an impact. This waiting is killing me!
I emailed Fran yesterday. She said they were working on the letters but Sandi, her secretary was out sick so they probably wouldn't go out until Monday.

I thought it would make me feel better, and it does a little bit... but yes, I am freaking out too.

Also, no letter of recommendation and I took the TEAS IV.
