Kennesaw State Univeristy application for 2011

Published

Hello All!

I just applied for Kennesaw State University's traditional BSN program today. I'm writing to see if anyone else has recently applied (or plans on applying soon). It would be awesome to hear from people in the same boat....those who have applied and are anxiously awaiting KSU's response or those that have been through this already. It would be nice to know that I'm not alone! :)

To get an idea of how competitive things are, it would be great if we could share with each other the following:

GPA, Pre-Req GPA (7 out of the 12 corse classes, 5 of which need to be math or science) & TEAS Score.

I don't know my overall GPA...something around a 3.4.

My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (4 B's, 3 A's).

I scored a 86 on my TEAS.

I would love to hear from people that have recently been accepted (or know someone that has). If you don't mind sharing, please let me know what you received for your GPA, pre-req GPA & Teas score.

I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of the time-line for KSU sending out the interview invite letters.

Thanks!! :nurse:

Thanks for the insight on the interview questions. I heard about the mock interview as well. To be honest, the thought of a taped mock interview sounds even more intimidating that the real thing. Although, I'm sure it is helpful!

Did you find out where your scores ranked (teas and competitive gpa) for the Spring 2011 entrance? I'm sure you did well on those since you said you didn't do as well as you would have liked on the interview. I'm sure that the wait list is still difficult to get on...

Keep me posted if you get any more information regarding an interview letter &/or if you find out if you get in for Spring 2011! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :)

I would def. recommend the mock interview if you are not confident about interviewing. The first time I applied, I was not prepared and I went in there and totally froze up. I did horrible so I wasn't surprised when I didn't get in. The second time I applied, I went in for the mock interview and it seems even worse than the real interview but the lady was sooooo nice!! She asked pretty much the same questions that the program asks and she even will help you with examples/situations if you don't any any. I rocked my second interview and I will be starting this Spring! So go to the mock interview, I highly recommend it!! Good luck!

Okay...I guess I'm convinced that I need to do the mock interview! I recruit for a living so I prepare people for interviews all the time...but...I've been in my job for five years now so I haven't interviewed since I started there. Not to mention, I want this so much more so it's just that much more nerve racking. Thank you for your in-put! Congrats on getting in to the program for Spring. Good luck with classes and clinicals.

Hello! I have put my application in for Summer 2011 as well... I am following your thread because I am on pins and needles about this letter. Any word on when we will know about an interview? I'm losing my mind here...

Just to give you an update, I just went in and talked to the secretary in the Prillaman building, (and she asked Sandi for me) about when the invitation letters would go out. They are saying end of November, beginning of December....

Best of luck to everyone!

i was just coming on here to report the same to you...late nov., early dec. per an e-mail that i received from sandi. good luck and keep me posted when you get a response! i'll do the same.

just out of curiosity, have you taken any/all of your pre-req's at kennesaw? that's one of my concerns as i haven't taken any classes there. i took most of them at boston university where i received my bachelor's of science and then took a few remaining requirements at chattahoochee tech because they offer evening classes.

Hi guys, I'm also waiting for a letter regarding interviews for next summer. I appreciate the updates, because this last month or so has been a nerve wracking wait by the mailbox! I didn't take any of my prereqs at Kennesaw either. They have a great science department, so I know it would always be a plus to have already have credits from Kennesaw, but I wouldn't worry too much if you don't. Remember, part of the purpose of requiring standardized testing like the TEAS is to put students from different backgrounds on a level playing field and see how they perform. Good luck, and lets keep this thread going--it helps quell the suspense!

Hey there...

I have taken most of my requirements at Georgia Highlands, one class at what was once called North Metro Tech (Chattahoochee), and some a loooong time ago in Michigan.. I will also have this semester and the next at Kennesaw. The only one class that I had that didn't transfer was the North Metro class, but I think they will all transfer from there now.

I have run into two people so far that have been through the process of acceptance and that had no prereqs done at KSU prior, in fact, one of them was in a few of my classes at Highlands. I don't think it will be a problem.

I will be the first to come inside running from the mailbox when I know something!

Best of luck...

Great info guys! Thanks for joining the post. I will keep everyone in the loop when (I'm thinking positive thoughts...) I get an interview invite. Please do the same when you get yours! There are no ifs here! :)

Not sure if this helps or not, but if you log into owl express, then program applications, and under nurse interview signup. It used to work, not sure if it does now.
