  1. To everyone beginning this Spring, I'm looking forward to meeting you all at orientation Dec 13! So exciting!!!
  2. I would def. recommend the mock interview if you are not confident about interviewing. The first time I applied, I was not prepared and I went in there and totally froze up. I did horrible so I wasn't surprised when I didn't get in. The second time I applied, I went in for the mock interview and it seems even worse than the real interview but the lady was sooooo nice!! She asked pretty much the same questions that the program asks and she even will help you with examples/situations if you don't any any. I rocked my second interview and I will be starting this Spring! So go to the mock interview, I highly recommend it!! Good luck!
  3. Hey KSUHopeful! I just got accepted into the program and I interviewed twice. I did not do any volunteering or shawdowing with a RN. They asked me, " What has motivated you to be a nurse?" I pretty much told them that family was a hugh motivator because I have two sisters that are nurses and I got a good understanding of the good qualities a nurse should posses and I see them in myself (then they will ask what good qualities do you see in yourself). You don't really have to volunteer to answer this question. Try and pull anything that is honest from your life that really has inspired you to be a nurse. It could be a life experience, family, friends, etc. When they ask this question, they are looking for passion. If you say "Well I just want to help people"..that is way too broad of an answer and is generic. The most important thing to remember is to BE SPECIFIC and don't give generic answers that they are expecting to hear. I learned this the first time I interviwed. I wasn't prepared and my answers were way too broad. Set yourself apart from everyone else. They really like hearing specific stories and examples from your life.
  4. Fran said something about getting the letter somtime today.
  5. Thank you everyone for the congrats! This was my second attempt to get in. My gpa is a 3.34. I took the TEAS test three times. The first time I took it I made a 76 and the second a 78. Finally this third time I made a 85.6. So this was not an easy process. I really didn't think they would let me in bc of my gpa being lower and bc I had taken the test three times, but I'm happy they are giving me a chance. DONT GIVE UP!! As you can see, you don't have to have the best of everything to get in. I have faith that when the time is right it will happen. Good luck to everyone!
  6. So I emailed Fran this morning and asked her about the emails and letters. She told me that I GOT IN!!! She said that some of the emails came back undeliverable. So, maybe yall should email her. I thought for sure that I wasn't accepted so don't give up yet!
  7. Ok, well that makes me feel alittle better. I'm so nervous and curious to why only some students got emails but I guess we will just have to wait for the letters. I wish you the best of luck!!!
  8. I wonder if they are still going to send out emails since some people have gotten them...
  9. I interviewed for the traditional program and still no word. Are you planning on calling them again today?
  10. This sucks so bad...I mean I have never been so nervous in my life.
  11. I haven't gotten an email either...I wonder if that means I didn't get in :\
  12. YES!!! It's all I think about everyday. I hope we don't have to wait two more weeks...this wait is torture!!!!
  13. I just called and scheduled my mock interview for September 7th. I think they still have alot of availability right now, but I wouldnt wait til the last minute to schedule one.
  14. Congrats to everyone who got an interview!! This will be my second interview with them and it is kinda scary. Fran told me about these mock interviews they offer in the student center. They work with alot of students trying to get into the program. So, if you're not good at interviews, this could be a good resource.
  15. I got an interview too!!!! I'm so excited!
