I just applied for Kennesaw State University's traditional BSN program today. I'm writing to see if anyone else has recently applied (or plans on applying soon). It would be awesome to hear from people in the same boat....those who have applied and are anxiously awaiting KSU's response or those that have been through this already. It would be nice to know that I'm not alone! :)
To get an idea of how competitive things are, it would be great if we could share with each other the following:
GPA, Pre-Req GPA (7 out of the 12 corse classes, 5 of which need to be math or science) & TEAS Score.
I don't know my overall GPA...something around a 3.4.
My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (4 B's, 3 A's).
I scored a 86 on my TEAS.
I would love to hear from people that have recently been accepted (or know someone that has). If you don't mind sharing, please let me know what you received for your GPA, pre-req GPA & Teas score.
I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of the time-line for KSU sending out the interview invite letters.
I just spoke with **** at KSU clinic. He handles all immunizations. Here is the link with all his info http://www.kennesaw.edu/col_hhs/hc/. If you are already taking classes at KSU, they should have your MMR, chix pox info. You can have your county health depts (where you grew up) fax the info to him if you are never taken classes at Kennesaw. Saves a trip to KSU. Also, if you do need to get any shots, take the info to Billy and he will enter it into the system for the nursing school to have. I need the Hep B and Tetorifice. He said the TDAP costs $35, Hep B is $30 per dose (series of 3 over 6 months) and a TB skin test is $5. This is what it costs the school and I don't have insurance so I am doing all of this at the KSU clinic.
Also, FYI, if any of you have lived in NY state in the last 7 years, you might get charged an additional $65 on the background check. It is trying to charge me so I cancelled the order and I am waiting to hear back from the girl because I do not want to pay $143 for a background check when I moved 7 years ago.
I am starting a folder of all these expenses we are about to shell out for taxes next year. We might be able to write off a lot of this stuff come next year.
Hi everyone, just a little info. Georgia CPR offers the BLS CPR class we need as well. They offer it on Sunday and Wednesday mornings at 9am. They are on Dekalb Industrial Way, so they are a little closer than going to Woodstock and the class is only $50. There website is georgiacpr.com. I am taking the class there on April 3rd.
I just spoke with Markisha at KSU. Don't do the criminal background/drug test yet. We can't do the drug test until we are in school. But go ahead and get your physicals and the CPR. She will be sending us something in the mail soon.
Is anyone going to campus next Tues to get their uniforms? I have my physical at 1:30 and then KSUhopeful and I will probably meet up! If anyone does, let me know. I would love to start meeting everyone! I'm Heather so look for me!!!
I look forward to meeting everyone next week! If anyone applied for scholarships at Kennesaw, I found out last week that letters will go out instead of emails if you received a scholarship. They said you should be hearing something within the next 2 weeks if you are chosen. Good luck to those that applied! I am not holding my breath but I figure it is good to know that it will not be posted on our student email and we need to look in the mail.
Hi everyone. I just found out I was accepted for Fall 2011, accelerated program. Yay! Congratulations everyone on your acceptance. You all must be so excited about starting this summer.
I am taking pathophysiology this summer to make my fall semester a little less crazy, well if there is such a thing in nursing school. I just wanted to say hi
