Kennesaw State Univeristy application for 2011

Published

Hello All!

I just applied for Kennesaw State University's traditional BSN program today. I'm writing to see if anyone else has recently applied (or plans on applying soon). It would be awesome to hear from people in the same boat....those who have applied and are anxiously awaiting KSU's response or those that have been through this already. It would be nice to know that I'm not alone! :)

To get an idea of how competitive things are, it would be great if we could share with each other the following:

GPA, Pre-Req GPA (7 out of the 12 corse classes, 5 of which need to be math or science) & TEAS Score.

I don't know my overall GPA...something around a 3.4.

My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (4 B's, 3 A's).

I scored a 86 on my TEAS.

I would love to hear from people that have recently been accepted (or know someone that has). If you don't mind sharing, please let me know what you received for your GPA, pre-req GPA & Teas score.

I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of the time-line for KSU sending out the interview invite letters.

Thanks!! :nurse:

Scratch what I just wrote. Not sure these classes offered in CPR will qualify for us. According to the website, it said the following (This course does not meet the requirement of Health Care Provider for Kennesaw State University’s School of Nursing) so I guess we really need Fran to tell us and not take things upon ourselves....I just wish we had that packet so we could just get the ball rolling already...sorry ladies!

I am copying this from a handout from last year. Is there a way to attach PDF's on these boards?

CPR CERTIFICATION

Every nursing student is required to have their current CPR certification on file in the Nursing Department Office. The following contacts are approved for instructing the American Heart Association "Healthcare Provider" certification:

MUST BE HEALTHCARE PROVIDER COURSE

CPR Certification MUST be an American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course

NO EXCEPTIONS!

Here is the link with all the info/forms for new students...

Thanks Sharon! Glad you are paying attention to tabs..I didn't even think to click on the clinical tab thinking it had to do with current students already in classes. So are we safe to assume can we start working on all of this? Has anyone received anything in the mail or email from Fran?

Hey Ladies! Just got an email from Fran. She believes that orientation will be May 12th from 12:30-5pm. She also said letters about all the requiremtents should be going out to us by April 1st. We can go to the http://www.kennesaw.edu/chss/schoolofnursing and click on clinical requirements and most everything should be there. I looked there over the weekend and it is a lot. I am going to call about the CPR classes and see how we sign up for that and then I will let you all know so maybe we can sign up together.

Happy Monday!

I replied to Fran to ask about when clinicals begin. She said they will be on campus the first for or five weeks and then we will go to hospital(s).

To get updated on all immunizations, shots, etc. You can take your records to KSU clinic and ask for Billy Trailer. He handles all of that and he can look to see what needs to be updated for you. I left a message with someone to call me back on the CPR certification. KSU clinic no longer provides CPR certification for healthcare providers.

SharonNeedles is the smartest nursing student you will ever meet. You need to partner with her for Summer 2011!

I spoke with Kristi Brannen at KSU about the CPR class. She is one of the people listed on the website that can teach CPR to us. She is holding a class on April 11th at 4:30pm in Woodstock. Call her and she will send you an email about signing up. She can take up to 10. She just needs confirmation by mail.

Let me know if anyone can sign up with me...KSUhopeful has a micro test so she is calling about another day.

Specializes in Geriatrics.

ugabelle, I am free on the 11th of April for the CPR class. Let me know what email I need to respond to to hold a spot. Do you know what the fee is? If you would like to carpool let me know. Thanks for the info.

Registration I believe opened up today. I went into registration and the classes are listed for me but I have that hold from Augusta State so no idea how that effects me. Has anyone looked at their registration page?
