  1. Oh, thank you guys! I'm just so relieved that others feel the same as me and I am not crazy!
  2. I am excited, but a bit overwhelmed and scared after my first week! I was thinking last night that it's kind of like postpartum depression/baby blues that I am experiencing right now. Let me explain.....You work so hard to get your baby here safely and you want to hold your baby so bad, meet them, etc--then you finally have the baby and all these crazy feelings sort of take over. How can I really be a mother? Seriously, I thought I was capable enough to be a Mother? Am I ready for this? *** have I done!!?? Is this really what I want? Am I good enough? What if I am not? What if I fail miserably? But change it all to working towards getting into nursing school and finally getting here--and all those feelings are the same except change the "baby" thoughts to nursing school. Making any sense? Just my crazy thought process. Of course, you want your baby, and are just feeling overwhelmed with the reality of actually being a mother rather than just "thinking" about it when your are a pregnant--huge difference. Everything works out once you get into the swing of things, get your routine down and start to feel a little confident in your skills. I know it will be OK once I get settled in (is that possible?) but I was wondering if anyone felt this way too? I love my professors, classes, etc....I am just feeling overwhelmed and scared! I hate that feeling--as I want this so bad and I've worked SO HARD to get here!! I am supposed to be feeling super excited, elated, and on cloud nine to finally be here! Then I feel guilty for not feeling that and feeling scared and oh so not confident in myself.
  3. I think I am going to register for the July 2nd one as well. I was supposed to be with Sings&Shoots for the other class, but had a scheduling mishap and couldn't make it that night. Also, here's a non-school sponsered Facebook page if you would like join! Just request a membership! http://www.facebook.com/#!/home.php?sk=group_115596505190726&ap=1
  4. I got my letter today, finally--for the traditional program. I actually registered for classes last night though! :) Congrats to everyone!
  5. Oh! So exciting!! Good luck to everyone!:heartbeat
  6. Anyone heard anything lately about ETA of acceptance letters? I did email "F" last week and she said that we MIGHT be hearing news by THIS FRIDAY! I hope so, but then I don't hope so--I want to finish finals first if it's bad news! Good news is welcome though! We'll see! :chair:
  7. MID-JUNE is ridiculous!!! I am going to have to hold out hope that we will hear by May 15th. I have other schools I have to answer to by May 30th.
  8. I am already soooo nervous about my interview. I went to the mock interview and it was very helpful (although seeing myself goof up on camera was cringe-worthy!) The lady at the Career Services asked me these: Tell me about yourself (and relate it to WHY you are here, interviewing for KSU nursing, etc) Why did you chose nursing? Why have you chosen KSU? What experience do you have in the field of nursing, if any? Tell me a time when you were faced with a difficult situation and how you handled it. Tell me about a time when you showed compassion. Tell me about a time when a coworker was not pulling his/her weight on your team. Tell me about a time when you had a difficult customer and how you handled it. What would make us pick you over someone else for this position? What do you think makes a good nurse? I think there might have been more, but I can't remember. I was so flustered with the watching of myself on her desktop camera! :uhoh21:
  9. I got an interview for the traditional program too! I have my mock interview on the 7th and my real interview on 13th at 3pm. I called the Career Services Center within 20 minutes of getting the email! I was so scared they would be booked, and when I called they were pretty full! I am so excited!
  10. SharonNeedles is the smartest nursing student you will ever meet. You need to partner with her for Summer 2011!
  11. The waiting is killing me!
  12. Hello, Congrats on getting into KSU! I am still taking my pre-req's, but I had a few questions for you--if you don't mind. What is your overall GPA? Science and Math GPA? What did you make on your TEAS exam? What did you use to study? What was the interview like? Thanks! I don't even apply to the KSU program until next Fall, but I want to be prepared!
