I just applied for Kennesaw State University's traditional BSN program today. I'm writing to see if anyone else has recently applied (or plans on applying soon). It would be awesome to hear from people in the same boat....those who have applied and are anxiously awaiting KSU's response or those that have been through this already. It would be nice to know that I'm not alone! :)
To get an idea of how competitive things are, it would be great if we could share with each other the following:
GPA, Pre-Req GPA (7 out of the 12 corse classes, 5 of which need to be math or science) & TEAS Score.
I don't know my overall GPA...something around a 3.4.
My pre-req GPA is 3.57 (4 B's, 3 A's).
I scored a 86 on my TEAS.
I would love to hear from people that have recently been accepted (or know someone that has). If you don't mind sharing, please let me know what you received for your GPA, pre-req GPA & Teas score.
I would also like to know if anyone has an idea of the time-line for KSU sending out the interview invite letters.
I have my interview Friday morning and I was just wondering if you all have done yours yet, and how you think you did... I hope to see you all very soon!
I sat for my interview today, and I felt pretty good about it. They allowed me to come in early and made me feel very at ease. I'm happy to be done with the admissions process. Now I'll just try to put that decision letter out of my mind until it finally arrives. The waiting game begins...
I am very happy to be done as well! Let's keep in touch about when we hear something from them. I hope that we all will see each other in class together!

Hey guys...I had mine on Friday as well. It was nice meeting you too ImpatientlyStudying! Does anyone know the number of interviews they had relative to the slots they had open? Just curious on our chances here. Wouldn't it be great if we all got in! :)
I wish I knew what kind of chances we had also. I feel so much better when I can gauge where everyone stands and the probability of acceptance. (even if the odds are not good)
Thought you guys might want to know...I stopped by Fran's office this morning to drop something off and I asked her when they would be making a decision and she said the meeting to make final decisions is THIS WEDNESDAY!! Now, I don't know how long it'll take before we hear something. She said they would notify us by mail, NOT EMAIL?!?!
I am new to this site but have been following along for awhile. I interviewed for summer as well. I spoke with Fran and they are meeting Wed. afternoon and letters go out Friday. I know in the past that emails have gone out before the letters so not sure what is happening this time. She did tell me that they interviewed 60 and will accept 40. I asked about classes and we do start in summer. Summer sessions are 9 weeks vs. 16 weeks but we take 3 classes. you do have the option to take next summer off if you want, I think. The semesters are sequential. So if i am right, we would be done Dec of next year 2012. Hope that helps!
Is anyone freaking out like me? Also, did any of you have letters of recommendation? Did you all take TEAS IV or V? I had to take V and I know the mean score is 10 points lower but I am in the 96th percentile...I am worried about my undergrad gpa...
i am totally freaking out! it's happening really fast. i thought we wouldn't hear anything until the end of the month.
i had 2 letters that i forgot to bring to the interview. a friend, who started the nursing program this month, told me to drop them by fran's office. that's what i was doing today but she said that they really don't weigh in at all. she said all recommendation letters are the same and that you really don't get a bad letter. but i gave them to her anyway.
i have taken both the teas iv and v but submitted version iv to kennesaw. i'm just nervous, i thought i did well on the interview but i've also read other posts that said the same and they didn't get in.
this is going to be the longest week of my life....ugh!
