Hi,

I visit this site a lot. I love it. I have a burning question for all the students who prepared with the kaplan program. I'm schedule to take my test very soon. With the kaplan program it said to score 65 or better on each of the 7 test. Test 1-3 my scores are 54-61%. The qbank scores rank from 50-80 %

guys please should i reschedule my test?

People seem to pass pretty easily with low sixties, high fifties on the Q-trainers. However, I would strongly recommend finishing the other 4: they get harder, more complex, and you have to SIT for longer to do them :)

I don't think you should reschedule....It just adds to the anxiety. I would go ahead and get it over with. Just keep doing the qbank and qtrainers until it's time for your test. Then go in there with the confidence that you CAN pass. I talked to a girl I graduated with the other day who never got above high 50's on Kaplan and she passed NCLEX with no problems. I think you will be fine.

your scores are enough.. feel confident and relaxed..goodluck

Hi everyone, I would like to say thanks for sharing great information. I'm in the process of studing with the kaplan qbank. I find the questions very difficult. However i have been scoring in the high fifty's , sixty, some seventys. I have taken 4 out of the seven test and can not seem to get above a 60%. I know kaplan said i should be getting 65% which is not happening for me. I'm wondering if i should used a different review. I test in a few weeks. help.

You don't need help. You don't need a different review. You've got the toughest there is :)

Getting high scores in other review courses doesn't necessarily equate with passing. Getting lower scores in Kaplan is, quite frankly, expected. I scored 80-90s in Saunders regularly--and sixties in Kaplan, regularly. Sometimes Qbank would be 50's, sometimes 70's. Depended on which way the wind was blowing, I think.

Testing 65% or higher on the Question Trainers is lovely. But getting in the 60s at all is enough, based on the experiences (many of them!) here on this board. The grade is less important than what you LEARN FROM every question: read each and every rationale, regardless of whether you got the answer right or wrong. You want to know what THEIR rationale is for the correct choice, because you might have gotten it right this time, but for the wrong reason, and you want to KEEP getting questions like that right.

A classmate of mine kept getting high scores in Saunders. Since she had "high" numbers, was convinced she was totally prepared for NCLEX...and failed. Point is, the GRADE isn't the issue, the level at which you are being tested is what counts: and you are getting HARD questions with Kaplan!

Hang tight, keep studying those questions and rationales, and there's good news in your future :)

No, you do NOT need a different review. Stick with Kaplan. Spend as much time as you can doing the qbank and qtrainers, reviewing the rationales behind the answers and go into this test knowing you CAN and you WILL pass. Kaplan is very difficult and sets the standards very high. I honestly believe Kaplan is the reason I passed NCLEX. The questions are very similar to NCLEX. I found that the questions in the other review books were too easy and don't feel that they would've prepared me for what I saw on NCLEX. Kaplan is IT! Good luck! You will do great!

I am getting ready to test on 8/1 and I have been getting around 63-67% on the Qbank and the Question trainer. In total I have done about 3800 questions since I started counting on 6/1. I am sure I have answered more. I actually feel like I have answered enough questions to go into the test and take it. I don't think I will ever feel prepared enough to my expectation of wanting to "know everything there is to know", but at least I have been in the question mode and can say I have done my best to prepare. Besides Kaplan, I have also used FEUER and Saunders, and Mosby's flashcards.

Good Luck to all who are taking it this week.

NO! Definitely dont re-sched. My Kaplan scores were in the 50s as well. Just complete all the Q-trainers. The last 2 took me a few hours!! Here's what I got on the Q-trainers:

1: %44

2: %49

3: %49

4: %48

5: %61

6: %57

7: %57

As you can see, my results were FAR from what Kaplan wanted: %65

I did pass so thats what counts!

Good luck!

O.K. where can I get this CD or do I have to buy a book with CD?

If it is a book what book is it?

Thanks

There are so many to choose from which one do you recommend. I have the saunders book and cd and I also did the live review but everyone always says that Kaplans questions are harder. I don't know I might do it. I still have another live review this year also. (pay for it junior year you get it senior yr for free)
