That's wonderful, Roy. What a fabulous essay. I love hospice nursing, too, and your piece really spoke to me. I hope you will hang on to that desire to make a difference. Already, after only working two weeks as a GN, I am seeing tired, jaded nurses, and I pray every day that I will make a difference, like your instructor said. Thank you for sharing!

Please don't be so quick to judge. It takes a lot of strength to last long in this profession. You've been in all of two weeks. Hardly long enough to sit in judgement on those who have been nurses twenty years or longer. Sometimes it can be very discouraging, and you will find this out for yourself.
Anyway, congratulations Roy!

Hi Allnurses family!
Every once in a while something special happens in our lives where we get the opportunity to share with others the good that is in this world and the difference folks can make when they do the right things for the right reasons.
I just wanted to share the following link
http://www.cnyahec.org/links.asp
Look at the special anouncement - and click on the bottom right corner where is says - "This is what Roy has to say" I am hoping that this will help young people especially see the hope in the future and the good that can be done through a career in nursing.
