hello everyone...any June 2006 RN's who will retake the exam this June 2007? Been reading all the posts here, including there opinions and suggestions, just thoughted of asking whose preparing for the upcoming exam? Are there any additional requirements if we'll take the exam? Will they revoke our license as registered nurses in the Philippines?
I dunno when and where to start studying again. Test 3(Medical-Surgical Nursing) but I guess the questions again are out of these worlds scenarios.Test 5( Psychiatric Nursing) I bet theyll inlcude some questions that are not based on theories and not found in the book...Whhooaa..God Bless..

I would highly recommend that you pay PRC a visit and get their official statement/requirements before you start your review.

I think the deadline for filling your application to take the june board will be on march 15, these are for repeaters and for voluntary retakers (meaning you plan to repeat the whole exam again).

If you will waive your license you need to bring your NOA, certificate, license and birth certificate NSO. The deadline of application for voluntary retakers is on march 15, 07'.

And suggest that you focus on retaking the entire exam and get it out of the way, and go on with your lives. Then you will never be looking over your shoulder. The same thing that would have been done if the exam was rewritten in December as some have done. And they passed the entire exam then, they did not have any option of anything else.

CGFNS requires just the test 3 and 5 be re-taken but some are willing to take the whole exam voluntarily as that would mean waiving that you were ever part of the June 2006 batch and in essence you will then be part of the June 2007 batch.
Well now i realized that people here is right, retaking test 3 and test 5 is the only way i can work in the united states, well its time to move on and i have to pursue my dreams and be with my parents. I know ill be having some difficulty alotting time for my review because of my current work, but i do trust god that he will provide for me. God bless!
I think prc will explain the details about the retake maybe next week after their meeting with the cgfns. We will just have to wait until next week for further announcements. For me if cgfns will not change their decision, I will choose to retake only test 3 and 5.

But the problem is they (PRC) wont let you just take the test 3 and test 5 only, but to repeat all the sets of exams if you may.You have to sign a waiver nullifying your previous results and surrender your license to them as if you're a fresh new batch examinee.....just pray that PRC would come out a win-win solution for the June06 nurses as well as to their name(PRC). I have here in mind that PRC could'nt take the suggestion of CGFNS to just retake the test 3 and test 5 in order for them to have VSC maybe because if they will decide for a retake, its simply accepting that they made a mistake on it...and that thing puts PRC into a limbo.
Just an update, the PRC head will actually travel to US on Monday to appeal the decision by the CGFNS. Seems Malacanang and the PRC are still not ready to signal their surrender.

Since no finality has been agreed by both parties, those who are affected should first wait before an agreement has been reached permanently.
Trying to appeal to CGFNS will not do them one bit of good. CGFNS is under contract to the US Fedeal Govt and they have to follow the US guidelines that are in place, they do not make them.
And they were made for the protection of the people of the US. Not those from other countries that wish to work in the US. To do so, the rules of the US take over.
They should save the money.
